Older Shows You've Collected

Post by Keropi »

What are the older shows that you've collected something from?

Guessing if fine since nobody wants to look up dates. :)

For me its:

1. Older Plastic Leftovers:

Ranma 1/2, Maison Ikkoku, Macross TV, Macross Flashback 2012, Macross: DYRL and Gunbuster

2. Older Paper Products:

Gatekeepers, Love Hina, Limeiru Senkitan, Sister Princess, Tenshi no Shippo, ONE 1st OVA

3. Merchandise Items:

Can't think of anything of importance. :emb

Older Plastic Leftovers: Land Before Time mostly. Xenogears if you count 1997 as old.

Older Paper Leftovers: Golden Boy I guess, and Land Before Time.

Older Merchandise: Keychains from the various old series like DB, DBZ, Ranma, Flame of Recca, YYH, etc.

Plastic:

The Brothers Grimm: The Golden Bird (1984)
Grimm Masterpiece Theater (1987-88 )
Vampire Princess Miyu OVA (1988-89)

Of CGI series, I think my earliest was Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne (1999-2000), one of the first series to dispense with cels from start to finish.

Well, I've got some Ranma stuff. Slayers is pretty old, too. Most everything else I have is probably about 10 years old or less. :D

Everything in my collection is 10 yrs old plus really, with the exception of VHDB, but even that's only a shave under. I've never really got the genga/douga collection bug, but that may one day change. I'm like anime as I am with computer games the 90's to me was just a good decade.

We mostly collect old things that are at least 10 years old, we've not really found much after 2000 to be interested in.

Our oldest shows are: door to summer and sea prince and the fire child both from 1981.

The oldest animation I collect from is Gay Purr-ee (1962). A lot of cels I see from it have paint lifting and even paint missing (but no line fading). Four of my Gay Purr-ee cels have paint completely missing but I think that is from them not being taken care of properly.

Unico In the Island of Magic and The Secret of NIMH are my next oldest. They were released in the early 80's. The Unico cels almost always have some line fading.

I think the oldest I still own is the the Yousei Florence and original Vampire Hunter D cels (both movies 1985). A good chunk of my collection has hit the 10 year mark: Fushigi Yuugi (TV 1995-96; OVA 1&2 1996-1998), Escaflowne TV (1996), and Trigun (1998).

Oldest show of mine would be Nausicaa of the valley of the Wind from 1984. :)

Merchandise Items: A super sweet Nausicaa standee standing at the intense height of 4ft tall. :D Other than that nothing worth mentioning.
