Black and White cels

Does anyone have any black and white cels (or almost black and white)?

I think I have three:

I have a few that are only black and white.

1) Card Captor Sakura, the Shadow.

2) Vampire Hunter D, Left Hand

3) Tony the Tiger

4) The Last Unicorn, the herd.

I also have a couple that are almost all black and white.

1) Vampire Hunter D, D

2) Jubei-chan, the original Jubei.

These are pretty neat.

So we have cels that are black and white because:

1. Scenes take place at night.
2. They're past or mental flashback scenes.
3. Scenes that were that way to emphasize a dramatic moment
4. Age of the cel?
5. Or they just look cooler that way

It's usually a sign of a flashback, where the colors are artificially shifted to distinguish between "normal time" and "memory." I've heard that people tend to dream in black-and-white, or maybe that's just the way they remember dreams. (Every so often I have some unusually colorful moment in a dream, and it's so surprising that I wake up thinking about it; otherwise it's the same ole.)

But during the early developmental stage of Japanese animation, series were in fact created and painted in grayscale. There are many Astro Boy cels that are in monochrome grayscale, and these are especially desirable.

"Flashback" cels that I have include:

Hikaru's first meeting with Umi and Fuu in the OVA
(Interestingly, the figure is monochrome, but the eyes are the normal ruby-red, making for an especially dramatic effect.)

Syaoran as a child learning martial arts
(This is is a red monochrome effect, but the same idea.)

Wow! This is a really neat thread Kerpoi!

I personally love monochromatic cels! They tend to be from
dramatic scenes or flashbacks, both of which I'm keen
about in anime. Especially if the flashback involves a chibi version of
the character.

I only have 1 b/w-ish cel so far
