LOL, I'm not sure how I missed this but HOW fun!

There are some real gems here! It is so hard to choose I don't know how anyone would be able.

I'm sure the obvious choice would be:

http://jadeduo.rubberslug.com/gallery/i ... emID=90101

Probably the VERY first huge wishlist acquisition of giddiness!

But it's actually this piece, when this came up on Mandarake in 2014, I was amazed, I hadn't EVER seen anything come up from this scene, and this came with the original matching background. One of my VERY favorite R episodes, there are tons of wishes from this episode that I would like to get my hands on! Also whenever someone says Masahiro Ando is the worst Animation Director in Sailor Moon, this piece and the many others I have aquired over the years from episode 49 are beautiful examples of his style:

Jadeduo, every time I'm in a Jupiter kind of mood, I have to visit your gallery. That cel is incredible! I have to admit that animation style hasn't been my favorite of the series, but that cel might be enough to convince me otherwise. The emotion is palpable...just a gorgeous piece.

I have a hard time choosing a single "Holy Grail" cel from my collection. I have too many that I would NEVER part with but I will try to keep my list short haha. This cel of Vash in a super heroic pose has to be my single favorite from Trigun and I absolutely cannot believe I have this awesome cel of Yusuke and the Gang from Yu Yu Hakusho.

Also, I have a weakness for saxophones so I of course love this cel of Midvalley from Trigun and Gren from Cowboy Bebop.

@Lunacels *squeaks* @_@ 8O 8O 8O 8O

You look at my gallery??? You look at my gallery!!!!??? *falls over, dies, gets poked, and jumps back up* *babbles incoherently* :jaw

When I am in a Sailor Moon (All Sailor Moon) mood I look at yours, I might also stalk your Jupiter section, she is my favorite, well duh! ^_^;; Although I have to admit a good few of my Juppy's have come from your sale page over the years! ^_^

I'm glad I was able to change your mind about Ando-san, most people hate his episodes, but there are some individual pieces from His episodes that are just REALLY gorgeous, the style is a little more chunky than the willowy animation that is indicitave most of the other animators, they look like actual sized girls which I just love. Although I guess I shouldn't try and convert everyone, but here are some other primo examples from Ando-san's Episodes. See below, one is from my gallery, and the other is from my PSL buddy, Milestogo.

http://milestogo.rubberslug.com/gallery ... mID=375915 Usagi from Episode 40

I also have wishlist from Episode 40 sitting at the deputy that should be coming soonish as well! *Runs off to bask in the glow of Lunacels looking at my gallery*

JD, that's so funny because I adore your gallery and am just as happy you have visited mine!! I've been a longtime admirer of your collection--it's well-rounded, well-researched, and seriously the best place to go for Makos! Also a big fan of your Tennimons. I've still never watched that anime but I suppose I should get around to it sometime soon.

OK, you really have sold me on Masahiro Ando's work. I feel badly now for avoiding his art style in the past, because the two others you just posted are also incredible! (Where have I been?!) I'm so happy to be able to go research the different animators and their roles throughout the eps...perfect timing with a long weekend coming up!

And I can't wait to see your update from Episode 40 (such a great episode)! :bounce

*falls over, dies* It's so great to hear you say that! That has been my goal since the beginning! Mako-chan only!... erm...ish! ^_^;;

Thanks for Tennimon compliment, though you should check out Sensei's gallery and Vapalla, they are much more well rounded! And if you decide to watch it! be prepared for the most amazing adorable insanity!

Have fun researching! I was planning on getting some scanning done myself this weekend! And don't worry too much about changing up your gallery for the open house the point is to get feedback on how it is now, and then change it after. Although I did a terrible job last/this year implementing any changes that were suggested I got so busy with stuff. OMG we are sooo off topic sorry guys! :-D

I remember the original thread from some time ago, and my Holy Grail cel selection still stands... I don't see that likely ever changing. However, I do have things I consider "Holy Grail's" in other categories.

For douga or genga I think these VPM Hanken are right there. They are in the "Artistic Collection" opening section of the film collection books, and the second one was also the back cover of the OST.

For backgrounds, it is pretty easy as well. This is the scene from Nausicaa where the forest plants are poison free and blooming.

For sketches (excluding some shikishi I don't display) this has to be as close as it comes in my collection. A beautiful color sketch from my favorite manga artist.

Everyone has some great images to show off. Frozentime, I like your VPM drawings as I remember these drawings from the merchandise they were used for. It's nostalgic for me too because I saw that little OAV on video back in Manga's heyday.

I had to look back at my response to this topic from January 2006 to see if my choice had changed. It did, but that Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust cel still springs to mind. On this occasion I'll choose a genga from the single movie that got me hooked on anime; AKIRA. This sketch of the jukebox in the Harukiya Bar features gang members Yamagata and Kaneda. I love this location and shot, plus it's the first depiction of the iconic character, Kaneda, which makes it more special.

So I smiled and was happy
and behold;
things did get worse...

What a fun thread idea. Mine is actually a newer purchase since I started collecting cels again after about 10 years of not collecting. It's this amazing pan cel of Van and Hitomi from the very start of the second episode of Escaflowne. It's one of those cels they used to print in artbooks and mooks and magazines, etc. and where you know the scene exactly as soon as you see it. (Assuming you're more or less familiar with the series, anyway.) I couldn't believe it when I saw it and I couldn't believe even more when I won it for a little less than my highest bid, no less.

But interestingly, and maybe a little sadly, I've never gotten any of my SUPER MEGA WISHLIST cels. I think it'd be fun to have a thread of your favorite unowned "holy grail" item. There are a lot of cels I want a lot, but if had to pick only one as my "holy grail" wishlist it'd be this Van cel.
JustVan's Cels: Unico, Escaflowne, Ranma ½, DBZ & more.

Since the last time I have gotten a few items that could qualify in addition to those listed a couple of years ago.

One item I never thought I would find up for auction was artwork used for a cover of a Newtype magazine and let alone one that I really loved when I 1st saw the mag.

These 3 eyecatch sketches from Dual made me stay up most of the night watching till the auction ended

If I had to try and pick...(which is very difficult!!)

My human Inuyasha pan cel. It's a big, beautiful cel of him in his human form *drools lol*

And Inuyasha VS Bankotsu. The only cels of Bankotsu come from this opening, so I'm very lucky to have one!

For some reason neither of these link for me, they just take me to my own exhibit manager page...
