uh well that would depend on your idea of sexy is, now my idea of sexy is either mr mole or doctor clay. now the rareness factor hmmm dunno rightly i have one or two. *shrugs* but id go with sexy then the rare.
In ideal wishlist to me, and i think everyone's is both.
But i mean so rare, that u dont care about the quality.
I tell you what, if someone can find me an SSJ3 Goku with a great shot, just as much money as this Cel on mandarake before it goes, iam all over the SSJ3. Any SSJ3 is sexy and rare.

I went with rare but, I think all my wishlist cels are both rare and sexy but, overall if there's an awesome super rare wishlist cel I'm more likely to buy that over one that has a million sequence mates. For a normal chracter I'd like my image quality to be a bit better especially given the price I paid for him. (which isn't to say I don't love the cel because I do) But, since my odds of ever getting another are pratically nill I went for it rather than buying something a bit higher quality but, far more common.
I think by definition, wishlist shots have to be at least somewhat rare. I mean if a cel scene was as common as dirt, I doubt a lot who wanted it would still have it on their wishlist.
So, for my personal answer, I'm going to redefine your tems. Maybe I'll even start another poll, because this is a question I've been somewhat curious about.
I'm gonna translate 'rare' into 'scene' and then change 'sexy' to be 'character.' I find most people collect mainly by either scene or character.
Scene collectors seek the emotions they felt when watching the series. The characters might not be facing perfectly forward or making the best expression, but it's a scene that reminds them why they love the series, and really grabs them.
Character collectors have a favorite character (or two) and seek the ideal shot of that character looking fabulous. Thet might not have a clue in the world what episode the cel is from, but the character looks incredible and the cel itself is beautiful.
Without a doubt I fall into the second category. I love dem portraits! I'm a character collector all the way, or by your definitions, sexy.

I'd choose the sexy/high quality cel over the rare one. Because well, if it wasn't high quality, or it wasn't a great shot or something? It would bug me everytime I looked at the cel. And it would suck to have a wishlist cel not be everything you hoped it would be.
Sexy for me, thank you. In the cases where I'm looking for something rare, either a specific scene or a hard-to-find character, I've made a conscious decision not to buy the first cel that came available, but to take the time (and expect to pay the extra $$) to get the sexy cel of whatever it is. A mediocre cel just doesn't feel like it's fulfilling the wishlist to me.

my answer is both! would like to have a cel that's of good quality and rare too. but as to answer your question, i'll go with rare. since most rare cels are almost(not always)in good quality too.
I guess I'd have to go with rare because sexy is in the eye of the beholder....with rare you know you have something special and that can never change.
Good question, Badman... too bad some people misunderstood your question . It's hard to find a good example, but here's one--which would you rather have?
Both are similar shots--waist-up, super-saiyan, centered. The Majin is drawn poorly in my opinion, especially in his face and hand. But then again, it's a Majin from when he blows up the crowd! Very rare! The SS Vegeta is drawn very well with his 'ki' and great expression, but not as rare. I would pick the second one--the art just ruins the first cel for me.
On a side note, I always thought it was odd that that Majin sequence seemed poorly drawn, since the art in that particular episode was very good overall...
But that's just because i'm not a big majin fan, vegeta with Ki is more valuable to me than a majin..now a majin with ki would change the whole view of things.

I went with super rare. It was really hard for me to decide so I thought about my personal wishlist cels. They're wishlist cels because they're hard to find aka rare. Of course, they also need to be sexy. I passed up a wishlist character because he was sooooooooo small that even $1 seemed like too much to pay. When given the choice between 2 wishlist cels for the same price on 2 different sites but one is sexy & common while the other is rare, I'll go with rare anyday. The common one will pop up again somewhere sometime.

Now that's my idea of a rare sexy wishlist cel! He's the first tv Suboshi cel for sale I've seen in my entire cel collecting addiction. I've only seen cels of him pop up from one scene of the OVA before.
Any SSJ3 is sexy and rare.
