old Tom and Jerry cartoons are the best

Post by soda »

The old Tom and Jerry cartoons that are being rerun on Boomerang are much better in my opinion than a lot of the stuff that is on TV now. I love these cartoons! The animation, backgrounds, music, stories and characters are wonderful and they bring back such good memories. Has your favorite cartoon won any Oscars?

I also loved the sound effects. I think I went through all of these sounds: http://www.tomandjerryonline.com/sounds ... =1&next=10 My favorites are the screams and yells on page 3. You can also hear how Mammy two-shoes is supposed to sound compared to the current voice that they dubbed over the original.

It's really hard to convey how much I enjoy these cartoons. I'm so glad that they're being rerun on Boomerang so that I can watch them again with Evan. These are classic cartoons that are hard to beat.

too funny!!

I love the classic Tom & Jerry from Hanna-Barbara over at MGM before they broke off and started their own studio. They were going up against classic Dizzyney back in the day and needed to really "bring it" artistically, which they did.

Hard to find any original artwork from those days and, of course, whatever you do find will cost you - especially a cel. Although this one is prior to the H-B days, you get the idea. X|

Yeah, i really loved Tom & Jerry. I would always watch it. One of my favorite episode is the one when Tom is playing the piano at a concert and Jerry is messing him up and closing the cover on Tom's hands.....It's funny because today i turned on my tv and saw that they were showing it and it was the one of them during christmas. I still watch it when its on and when i have time. :)
