Wanna see Jura Tripper?

Post by Zag »

Leah, the wonderful quirky pervy person we all know and love, has for some reason graced me with her angelic gift of : Jura Tripper Laser Discs.
The first three LDs. It will more than likely take months and months for the shipping to come through, but when it does, I'm sure I'll have found someone to borrow a ld player from.

.. So, even if it's in raw japanese, anyone wanna tape?

XD LDs are soooo dead, unless you want to be a fansubber.

I've been pricing LD players, and even the new(er) Sony models are going cheap, and I mean CHEAP. eBay has listings from $5.00 - $50.00 and up.
A lot in the $9.99 range. I may just buy one, screw renting. We'll see how much they cost, and what my wallet says in a faw months.

Most of the players I'm finding these days are free.

Who be these wonderful peoples? So far, my only local bite wanted $65 for it. I almost laughed into the phone.

I got a free one from work a few years ago. And friends and family over the years.

If you find a place that has LDs, let me know... I've had a couple Ys LDs for the longest time... but still have not found an LD player. =P I'm nuts.

My friend sold me his laserdisc player after I bought a few laserdiscs at Mandarake's Torrance store closure sale.

The laserdiscs I've bought online I bought at Anime Jungle:

http://jungle-scs.co.jp/en/

It's too bad they no longer have the inventory of their Los Angeles store online. I suppose they probably weren't making enough money to keep up the computer inventory, but it was a heck of a lot cheaper buying LDs from the L.A. store than Japan. Shipping LDs or tapes from Japan costs nearly as much as the LDs/tapes themselves. :(

The thing is I can go through the inventory of their Japan online catalog, but I have no idea what a lot of their LD anime titles are about. Those shows have so little info on them on the web. It's hard to know which shows I might like and which I won't. Trying to find a hidden gem is difficult to say the least. Trying to find a single picture from the anime might be tough.

This is when I often run into Robot Pilot's cel page. :D

Put me down for a copy of that Jura Tripper. I have seen LD players just thrown away here. It is amazing what people toss when they are getting ready to move on.
Most Bishies are eyecandy therefore they must all be attractive for the females. One Problem though Can we have MORE LEGAL eyecandy??

Update ahoy;
Joe (JWR) has a LD player for me in the mail, so once I get it, and figure out how to make tapes, you'll all get to experience the fun!

So it survived the trip, I'm glad :)

Hope you get great use from it.
