Many years ago, Mandarake L.A. had a cel from this music video. I believe it was listed for $10,000 before they closed shop. The only other cel I've ever seen from this video is displayed on the wall of the Ghibli Museum's gift shop. It's not for sale (I asked!) :^^:

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind is Our favorite. Marie and i have watched it probably 6 times by now. But all of his films are watchable. You can't say he has a "worst" film, just some that are better than others! :^^:

Spirited Away is a great film, yes.
Thought I'd chirp in and say that My Neighbour Totoro is my favourite Miyazaki film, the dust spiders later appeard in Spirited Away too ^__^

Porco Rosso is probably my least favourite, I didn't like the main female character and setting [location and time period] of that movie.

Nausicca is on my watch list for sure.

I loved Spirited Away! 8) I delayed almost a year seeing it because I hated Princess Mononoke so much. But when I watched it, I was so taken away. I actually yelled at myself for being so stubborn. :emb

I think Miyazaki is a brillant man. He's very creative and innovative but you can go wrong with his movies because like so many other things in life, it's all about what you like and don't like. Princess Mononoke was the first Miyazaki film I ever saw. Therefore, I was being completely stubborn and not wanting to watch any of his other works after my bad experience. Well, I visited the Ghibili museum in Japan. After coming home, I couldn't find my Spirited Away DVD fast enough. (Yes, I bought the DVD. :) )

I'm glad to hear you liked Spirited Away. I'm looking forward to trying Howl's Moving Castle next. It looks pretty good. I really liked My Neighbour Totoro too.
Can you hear this fangirl squee?!

spirited away is a wonderful movie---it made me cry!

i just love not only the animation but also the message in the plot--taking responsibility for your family and your own actions; not taking life for granted and the people you love.

great movie!

You have to buy Miyazaki! :) Its so good you really have to watch it high quality 8)

I like all Ghibli movies (hehe), I must agrea with most people that there is not really a bad Ghibli movie, only taste places one better then the other.
My personal choise is Kiki's Delivery Service and Whisper of the heart. (But I also love every other one).
Nice aspect on (most) Ghibli films is the super-nice music of Joe Hisaishi. :)

Considering Miyazaki's work is widely available, you should be really buying the stuff. Some people really need to get out of the habit of downloading Torrents and seeing it as their only way to obtain anime...

Here I'll help you:

Amazon:

Play.com:

I would definitely recommend to anyone to watch Spirited Away. It is my favorite Miyazaki Film. I just love the animation & the story line. Everything looks so real, that you could almost touch it.

I even got my mother to watch it. Which is a big thing since she considers anime as a waste of time & money just for some cartoon. But she absolutely loves it & we have watched it 4 times since. She even makes reference/comments about Kaonashi (No Face), her favorite character, in everyday conversation. Go Figure?
