*Heh* I'm stunned by the praise for Hokuto no Ken from TWO people! The only 'rounded' elements within this series are the guys biceps and wide chests otherwise it's all angular jaws and piercing eyes.
I think the best artistic styles are the ones which combine the angular and rounded aesthetic along with a rich colour palette.
As Toni suggests, AKIRA is magnificent and there are plenty of examples on my website if you're unfamiliar with it.
MEZZO FORTE is also special, both the original OVA and the newer TV series- it combines these qualities and has the distinct 'Umetzu' style which can be identified in all his anime work.
Others: DARKSTALKERS [Design: Capcom]
ANGEL COP [Design: Nobuteru Yuuki]
PLASTIC LITTLE [Design: Satoshi Urushihara]
Animation with great art?

I've just seen the Mezzo Forte OVA, it was pretty origional i guess.
I never liked much TV anime though, because they have to make it to the regulations of the networks, and didn't have alot of freedom where creative inovation is concerned. Others won't give a monkies about that though, and I will look like a donut for saying it
