Does he like sports?

I just watched Ookiku Fuikabutte or Oofuri for short which is a series on baseball. My daughter recommended it. Even her boyfriend likes it. There's also Whistle for soccer, Eyeshield 21 for football (though I haven't seen it), Prince of Tennis (though I think it is like by females more), etc. I agree Hikaru no Go is an good choice. My youngest daughter watched it when she was in her early teens.

As for subtitles, let him know its ok to have to pause it and read them...and that he's not alone if he does.

Well he tried HnG and I think he got bored pretty quick. :sweatdrop I don't get it, but yet.....

He's watched Yugioh and even collected the cards a few years back. I will definitely use y'alls recommendations for him. I like the baseball one AO mentioned since he plays baseball a lot right now. I will also try the Inuyasha and Kenshin. I'm not familiar with some of the other titles mentioned, but will definitely give them to him. He doesn't mind subbed at all. I think at first he was hesitant after watching Naruto in English first and then watching the subs. He was so used to the English VAs that at first the Japanese sounded "funny" to him. Now he's so used to the japanese that he frowns on the English. :rollin I've taught him well. :dwink :evil2 Thanks so much for the recs eveyone! :bow

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Some action with a story, maybe...

Hunter x Hunter
Witch Hunter Robin
Gundam Wing
Cowboy Bebop

Maybe throw Lain, FLCL, or Tenchi at him just to see what he thinks.

I would try something like Tenchi OVAs or TV series (Tenchi Universe in the USA), Outlaw Star, or Cowboy Bebop...
