H20, Shion no Ou and Noble Masters

Post by Keropi »

Is anybody watching H20, Shion no Ou and They are My Noble Masters (Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de)?

I'm more curious with how H20 and Shion no Ou went. I heard Shion no Ou got pretty good around episodes 15-18+ and I heard the anime story of H20 was kind of "mentally weird" or something like that. :wow: :messed :emb

Shion no Ou has too many spoilers in it for me to look through anime threads about its progress.

What do you guys think of these shows? Did you think they were worth watching or did you find them disappointing?

Lets see:

H20 -> Even though i actually finished watching the series, i can safely say it's not good. As you say, "mentally weird" defines pretty well the plot.

Shion no Ou -> This one is good. Still waiting for Live-Evil to finish the last episodes. It's good for the series that the plot includes Shion's past. Still no clues of who killed her parents.

Kimi ga Aruji -> The series itself is so so. But the continous "sexual affairs" of the oldest sister with her younger sisters (specially with the one that is pourposely made look as a loli) will make the show interesting for many people. Watched the first episode, abandoned the series as i noticed it's a parody of Hayate no Gotoku, came back when i was bored and here i am wacthing it again.... Those sisters are pretty hot. ^^ (Nothing explicit of course but still......)

Can't add much but I've been rather enjoying Shion no Ou so far. Don't know anything about the other 2 titles though.

Shion no ou: I really like this series, I'm not done with it yet, only up to ep 18. For a little bit, I thought the killer was Kamizono Osamu, now still no clue lol. I like shion, and the characters that surrounds her, lending their moral support. She's not only cute, but strong.

H20: I liked it overall. Foot Prints in the Sand is a very popular poem amoung Christians:

The text describes a dream, in which the person is walking on a beach with God. They leave two sets of footprints in the sand behind them. Looking back, the tracks are stated to represent various stages of this person's life. At some points the two trails dwindle to one, especially at the lowest and most hopeless moments of the character's life. When questioning God, believing that God must have abandoned his follower during those times, God gives the explanation: 'During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you'. - Wikipedia

My wife got really uncomfortable with Kohinata getting beat, not that I was a fan of it. But it just shows the "hard times" she was going through and god was by her side.

Overall, the show was cute, I wish they had ended it with the windmill scene.

They are My Noble Masters: I don't know why, but this reminds me of tenchi. Except in this version the Tenchi Character, Ren, has to obey his "masters". My favorite, Ryoko character, Shinra, strong and very straightforward, teases her sisters alot. My other favorite character is Mihato, Ren's sister, sweet, perfect & a bit crazy lol. This series still has a few episodes to go on, but so far as the story, it just a fun watch and I don't expect anything mind boggling in the end. Women, be warned, this is geared more toward us guys 8)

You mean "mentally weird" like Kakyuusei 2/ONE 1st OVA? :wow:

"Mentally weird" like Slaughterhouse Five? :^^:

At least I recognize more of the stuff they're parodying in Noble Masters compared to Hayate. Those Initial D, Death Note, "burning hands" jokes had me rolling.

I'm going to have to get back to it then. I hope I can at least.

So the title really did have something to do with the Christian poem eh? I heard someone mention that, but I couldn't tell if he was half-joking or being serious.

It seemed pretty fun from what I seen. Some parts I liked more than others. I just wasn't sure how much effort I should put into trying to finish it. Took me awhile to get used to the pacing of it.

I really enjoyed Footprints in the Sand. Overall, it tells two different stories about how to come to deal with your past. The short (12 episodes) are essentially two different stories that segue into each other. The character designs are cute, and there is one episode in the middle of the two stories that seems like a whimsical dedication to the animators predilections and peccadillos. (strange magical girl story...) In many ways, this story reminds me of Sola as both have bittersweet endings, though I think Sola had a stronger storyline. Still, I liked it enough to get the region 2 DVDs.
There is no such thing as too much cuteness
