Code Geass R2 Episode 17

Post by Goldknight »

God I love this series.....
Why didn't Lelouch tell Suzaku the truth about what happened with Euphy and Shirly? And how are Ohgi and Viletta not injured?

I just watched it and this is what I wrote before I seen your post: :)
This wasn't very unexpected. No bombshells dropped in this episode. This episode was sort of a lead up to bigger things episode. But you can see that the plot points are slowing converging toward each other.

No surprise that nothing got cleared up between Suzaku and Lelouch. This series loves to leave things hanging. Characters either don't know what's really happening or the characters think they know, but they don't.

Huh. Only if my robot eye is working.

One word? Pride. He doesn't want to admit that he's screwed up. Or maybe he thinks he's in too deep to admit it.

It seems like he thinks that if he admits to anyone (besides maybe the old CC) that he's screwed up and can't control everything, that he'll have to admit to himself that he can't. He will never be able to justify his continued involvement to Suzaku or himself if it's out that he's lost control.
I don't know, just some fuzzy thoughts I'm trying to work out there. I'm sure we were both watching this episode, thinking, "Just tell him already!"
You'll notice, though, that Suzaku didn't believe him when Lelouch claimed responsibility for both women's demises, or the excuses he gives for his actions to save his friends. He sees a part of himself in Lelouch--the part that wants to accept punishment for what he, and he alone, knows he's done. Suzaku knows that Lelouch is lying the same way that he himself was lying, and that's why he's willing to give Lelouch a chance.

Anyway, I can only hope that the old CC comes back. Not only did she become the subservient woman that shows up far too often in anime, but she seemed to have gotten stupider, too. I really don't think the time difference explains all of the stupidity and child-like behavior. Ugh. It makes me sick. :(

That's a good explanation Klet. It makes a lot of sense.

I noticed most of that, but I couldn't quite put everything together. I missed a couple of steps in the process.

Lelouch left the area angry. Then Suzaku was (kind of) disuaded from protesting loudly and yelling to Lelouch what happened because of the Britannians surrounding him. He kind of gave into the situation. So by the end of the episode Suzaku was thinking more than Lelouch. Lelouch was reacting on emotion. I wonder if Lelouch will think about things more deeply later on.

I got the impression that the writer(s) took C.C. "away" because they wanted to isolate Lelouch as much as possible. How long she stays that way is anyone's guess

I think Lelouch wants to be punished! Image He wanted Suzaku to beat the crap out of him. He just didn't feel right to get away with Euphy dying. Even though he did it unconsciously he still killed Euphy. Image It's kinda like how Suzaku wanted to die to atone for his sins! In a way Suzaku and Lelouch are the same.

I like the new C.C. and her engagement ring! Lol!

That's got to be the best wedding ring ever! Image

The Old C.C. just was depressed all the time.

I'm glad she's happy now. Image
