Gundam 00
I've heard from several sources that Gundam 00 had a much higher level of female viewership than the average Gundam anime.
Anyone have any idea why that is?
I haven't a clue since I've never seen any of it.

What happened to it?

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Probably for much the same reason as Gundam Wing
. And considering I'm a female and a fan of both...
. You can draw a lot of parallels between 00 and Wing, at least from a pretty basic perspective. A few characters have similar traits to some Wing characters, but the story and the characters themselves are different enough that it isn't like watching a re-run. I would say that while Wing had a lot of its plot based on WWII, 00's plot sounds very much like someone's idea of what today's world events might look like when set in the future ...
I've finished watching the first season of 00, and am looking very forward to catching the 2nd season when it airs on Sci-Fi starting later this month.

I love Gundam 00!
Setsuna is my fave character!
zero, you're going to love season 2 if you liked season 1. As soon as I finished watching the dls, SciFi had it during AniMonday so I watched it again.
I need to buy the 1st season boxset.
I know plenty of males who like Gundam 00. It's just like all the other Gundam series. There's a little bit for everyone. I think that Gundam Seed caused more females to become interested in the Gundam universe than ever were before. And with Gundam 00's character designs being like Loveless, it didn't take much to push the remainder. I see it as more of a 50/50 split now of males and females watching.

Once more? You seem quite eager for it.

Since I don't like downloading my anime, I've been waiting ever so impatiently for SciFi to begin airing season two

But of course!
I know you're a Heero fan but I never made the connection between the two while I was watching it. I can totally see why people do though. I basically made the connection of he looked most like the character I liked most in Loveless.
Setsuna had much more depth to him than Heero, imo. Remember, I'm a Duo lover.
I wasn't big on Tiera until the second season. And the fact that Sam Vincent voices him, well, that really turned my opinion of him too. Now, he's my second fave character.

*realizes we've turned this thread into our own private discussion on Gundam 00... and doesn't care*
Hee! Yeah, I guess I would be more willing to draw parallels when Heero is obviously my favorite character (and how on earth could I forget that you're a DUO fan?!
) . I think it was both Setsuna's english voice actor, and also his very emotionless way of dealing with others that made me connect the two characters a little.
Now you've REALLY got me looking forward to watching season two!

Not many people express themselves the way you do.
