Soo..tell me, what do you turn into when splashed with warm or cold water?
Personally I turn into a pumpkin, but only at midnight

Okay...that was silly :D (sorry 'bout that)

My favourite anime at this point is Escaflowne.
And I totally adore the art in te Escaflowne movie. :love2
I guess I'm becoming a huge Nobuteru Yuki fan

And as a side note, which has not much to do with anime but more with mangakas; I more and more love Kazuya Minekura's work too :love2
She's a wonderful artist!

It's hard to pick just one favorite, because I have several.

What I can say is that some of my top favorite anime are

Samurai Deeper Kyo
Love the story, love the characters, I love swords so that's also a huge plus, love the way the anime developes to the end, even so in the end I was sitting there thinking they gotta make more episodes, but other then that I like the complete anime (manga even more)

Rurouni Kenshin (tv, ova and movie)
Story is just awesome, I love the characters, again swords are my thing so that's a huge plus, it has part of japanese history and that makes it unique to me, I did not like the Seisouhen so away from that it's by far one of my absolute favorite anime

GetBackers
I don't know why I like this one so much, but there is just something about Ban, Jubei, Kagami, Jubei, Shido, Ginji, Akabane and all the other characters, the story is just awesome and everytime something new happens. And to get to know each of the characters, when all their lifes get revealed. It's just awesome.

Tenjou Tenge
What can I say, lets just say I really like this anime.

Here are several of my favorites listed on another thread simular to this thread:

I can't really answer this, I watch so much anime in so many different genres that I really like! I thought I'd mention a few I have watched recently that I already know will always be at the top of my list;

I just finished Gankutsuou and it was amazing! Excellent story telling & incredible visuals. I have also just seen the first 2 discs of Samurai X and everyone was right! I look forward to seeing Reflection even if I get teased again for crying a lot. I am also enjoying Paranoia Agent a lot right now, and as I am a huge Satoshi Kon fan, I would recommend any of his works. (Milennium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers, ets...)

As to anime that I saw a while ago, I'll mention 2 that I really adore that jumped immediately to mind. Haibane Renmei is one, and the other is Tenshi ni Narumon. I guess there is not much in common between the two, beyond the wings and being sucked into their little worlds!

Any of the above listed I can watch over and over.

I'd better stop before I add 50 more!

Hard to pick just one anime as my favorite, so I'll pick an entire group of series: Gundam. Gundam Wing is my favorite of those--I love the characters, the storyline, and of course, the mecha.

Fullmetal Alchemist has quickly become one of my all-time favorites too--I absolutely love the characters in this show & the storyline. The constant switching between darkness and humor is wonderful too--makes it feel like an emotional roller coaster ride, but it's perfect!

.hack//SIGN -- call me strange, but I loved this show. Perhaps the geek in me loves the oblique computer references, but I also thought the plot was great, too. Despite its slowness to develop, this was one thought-provoking show & I love that.

There are so many others that I love: Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, Outlaw Star, Dirty Pair Flash... so many wonderful shows to pick from! :D

The one series I'll never tire off is Hunter x Hunter.

It renewed my interest and love for anime with great storylines and one character more fascinating than the next.
A fantastic combination of adventure and humour.

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

Tenshi Ni Narumon is my favorite. It's the one anime I could watch an episode everyday over and over until I die. Something about it reminds me of being a young child and seeing wonder and mystery all around. The opening theme song is wonderful and insanely addictive, the art is beautiful, the character designs are perfect and almost every character has something interesting going on, most of the storylines are funny and silly but, underneath there is intensity and something mystical there. I won't go into any plot spoilers.

Runner-ups are: Vampire Princess Miyu, Earthian, Fushigi Yugi, Escaflowne, Ayashi No Ceres, Escaflowne, Totoro, anything else by studio Ghibli, Yami No Matsuei, etc

My overall favorite would have to be Full Metal Alchemist. Amazing storyline, action, characters, .. basically it has it all (except cels  ) .

Other anime I like and why:
Big O - Can't go wrong with big robots and I love that line style!
Naruto - Great action and overall badass feel
Inuyasha - Characters, characters. And characters.
Detective Conan - Not sure why but I watch it.

Hard to just choose a single favorite :)

Shamanic Princess stands out, as it is quite the unconventional story with an interesting though somewhat, unconventional plot. And that is what makes it great.

The Irresponsible Captain Tylor. What can I say, this one provided me with a great slapstick comedy when I needed it. And behind the comical front cover, I actually found quite a bit of depth in the character developments and actions.

A few other notable series:
the Seikai series
Escaflowne
Lodoss Wars

My Faves

Post by Krafty »

As everyone's said, it's hard to nominate just one as each series/film has elements we're drawn to depending on our mood. But the question wasn't limited to your our SINGLE fave anime, heh. Narrowed down to just 5 I'd say:
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure- Stunning character design, the male-bonding theme, and intelligent battling whereby mere brawn doesn't usually win a fight.
Angel Blade- Superb character design/colouring and other elements I can't mention on a family-orientated board ;)
AKIRA- The Daddy of anime. smooth animation, the storyline reminds me of my bicycle gang when I was 7-13 years old, heh.
My Neighbour Totoro- Warm, down to earth childhood story.
Mezzo Forte- 1st class mix of sex, violence, comedy, drama all held together with sharp and colourful designs. The characters gel very well together and they each have a true sence of personality.
Out of the gloom a voice said unto me;
"Smile and be happy, things could be worse".
So I smiled and was happy
and behold;
things did get worse...

Really hard to come up with one since there are so many great animes out there. So that being said, here's my choice.

My current absolute addiction is Reservoir Chronicle Tsubasa. :iluvu I just cannot get enough of it.

However, overall my favorite anime has to be Fushigi Yuugi simply because it's what really got me addicted to anime. It also didn't hurt that the bishies are well drawn. :dwink
Can you hear this fangirl squee?!

Is that the fan-made music video done to the Limp Bizkit track? If so, I know the one you mean as I DL'd it a few years back- it is really funny :)
