weyrlady wrote:JWR, Banner of the Stars is being made into an anime! ^_^ Just thought you'd like to know!
From what I had read the Banner of the Stars anime split book #2 into part 1 & 2 unlike Crest of the Stars which was all in one book.
Being in Japan you might see if Hiroyuki Morioka wrote what 3 titles as his trilogy. They have never been published in the USA and I am going off info in the notes in the extra section of the Banner's dvd so my info could easyly be wrong. Please PM me with the correct info.

If it turns out there is no more than I would want to make into Anime the rest of 3X3 eyes.

I second the Battle Angel idea! I'd love to see the 'real' story in anime! :D

I would also DIE to see more Hunter x Hunter!!!!!! The manga is still going (I think....) and the anime should too!!!!! Where it left off is just....wrong. Too many loose ends. I'm going to start a "Bug Kingdom" letter writing campaign.

I would also like to see an anime remake of Labyrinth. It's weird because I was just thinking that if I won the powerball ( :rollin ) I would finance an anime version of Labyrinth. And if it turned out as cool as I imagine it in my head, maybe more movies or a TV series. :D Then I saw this thread! Weird!

THINK ABOUT IT!!!!! It would be AWESOME!!!!!! :rollin

Doesn't the first part kinda rule out the payoff ? ;)

Spinoffs/remakes... can't think of any

Well, maybe doing the rest of FAKE would count as remake.... They really should do the whole manga set as DVD's... I'd buy them all in a heartbeat!

Adaptions: Rebirth, King of Hell, Vampire Game, Dragon Knights, Demon Dairy, Eerie Queerie, Usagi Yojimbo, Juvenile Orion, Sensual Phrase, Wild Act, Legal Drug, By the Sword, Until the Full Moon, and Selfish Love

Remake: Kare Kano (soooo disappointed in the ending), and don't know if this counts, but there were a couple DVD's made of Terry Pratchett's Discworld stories, but they just weren't as good as I thought they could be. I'd like them to redo those two and do the rest as well! Of course that would take a few years to do...

Oh, and spinoffs... waiting with bated breath for the Mirage of Blaze OAV/OVA (whatever the heck you call it)

OOooooo!!! There are Discworld DVDs out there????? I love Terry Pratchett!!!

Then again.....I can't imagine them capturing his strange sense of humor in live action. The books are just SO GOOD!!!! :D

I would also want to see the continuation of Inuyasha and Full Metal Alchemist along with Fruits Basket and Juuni Kokki/12 Kingdoms.

The final arc of Kenshin is another one I'd love to see.

An adaptation of Sword of the Immortal and Vagabond. Both superb mangas.

Another series of Slayers... umm.. just cause, lol.

Well allow me to taunt you.

The movie is both witty and hysterical!!! Neener neener neener!!!! :P

(The BBC version was funnier and had a better script but not as well executed)

No sequels! No spinoffs! I'd hire a bunch of people that made those other shows I love so great and have them come up with something truly original and terrific.

Originality is always more fun anyway.

1) A sequel or spin-off of an existing series.

Rave needs a continuation SO BADLY-- the manga had some awesome scenes in later volumes that I would just KILL to see animated (mangas 19-23 would be amazing animated). I was so disappointed with the way the anime ended, especially since the manga is still running.

2) A remake of an existing series.

Saiyuki Gunlock. Hands down. Words cannot express how disappointed I was with what they did to Hazel's character. I would much rather they have waited until Minekura concluded that story arc to animate it rather than pulling something out of their ass.

3) An adaptation (from manga, video games, or other)

Shining Force 3-- it had the most amazing story that would've made a fantastic series. Not to mention the top-level seiyuu they had for some of the main characters... (Okiayu Ryoutarou, Nobutoshi Kanna, Maeda Ai)
Kingdom Hearts-- it would lend itself really well to an OAV series.

I've got nothin'! 'Cept for an Eva remake. I'd go for that too. Oh, and an Inuyasha sequel. Don't have an adaptation. Been kind of ignorant of the world outside the big wide web. *sighs* Totally uninspired to think of somethin' right now.

1) A sequel or spin-off of an existing series.

Well, a sequel to Tenshi Ni Narumon would be great. They could almost take any two characters and make something new out of it but, I'd really like to see more of Silky.

2) A remake of an existing series.

I usually don't go for remakes but, Earthian is just begging for it.

3) An adaptation (from manga, video games, or other)

Hands down, the manga Count Cain would make a wonderful anime (hopefully). There's something so, elegantly gorey and beautiful about the whole thing.
I also second what some people said about Blade of The Immortal, but how would they successfully capture that art on screen?

My daughter and I had a lively conversation about this and one other possiblity wasn't mentioned- choosing a favorite director and asking them what pet project they might have that they want to make. I'd pay to have Satoshi Kon make something. I trust him not to dissapoint me! Another possibility, ask Yoshitoshi Abe. (We preferred this idea to a remake)

As for continuing the series, I haven't finished Spiral yet, but I have read that it could use more episodes. I suspect InuYasha will get more whether I pay for them or not, but I don't think Spiral will.

Manga- Vampire Game! We already have the character designer picked out. If done right, the mix of comedy, intrigue, cats, vampires and a touch of Shonin-ai will be a winner!
