The first episode is very slow but never crossed the line into making me want to turn it off...and the ending was worth it. Nice transformation scene, if only because I never quite saw the appeal of the extremely flashy magical girl ones. This one...just happens...amidst cuts to shots of the night sky and scenery. I love the image of their feet: evidence that the change has occured...sandals too small, pants too big. Good thing Karada wasn't wearing closed-toe shoes! The second episode was much more interesting...lots of quiet humor due to the situation and Shouko's underreactive personality. Realistic grief, too...growing up is hard enough when it is done at a normal pace. As always, be careful what you wish for... This looks like a series I'm going to enjoy.
Kanon #2
I'm glad it's been so long since I've seen the first version of this show; this is almost like watching everything anew. I hope KyoAni maintains this quality of presentation (I think I heard this was their first 24 episode show?)...I'll get to love the characters a lot more. Favorite moments...the clocks, Yuuichi lost, Ayu is too damn cute, more references to future Kanon as well as Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu.
It's weird how the stairs were empty and suddenly Nayuki falls into Sayuri and Mai. It's almost like they teleported there...

Pumpkin Scissors #2
The PS unit is an enjoyable bunch! The dog-who-bites-heads makes a great mascot. This show is starting off with an episodic "tank of the week" feeling...(and the antagonist this time gave me Dilandau vibes). It works while we're getting to know the members of the unit and the world they are in, but I hope when GONZO switches to the real plot that it is an improvement on the enjoyability of the show, not a disintegration.
I DL'ed Ghost Hunt #1, but I didn't give it a chance because I couldn't get through the first episode. Impossible to truly tell from 15 minutes, but it doesn't seem like my type of show... The OP and esp. the END music are beautiful, though.
Stained glass? Makes sense, and I'll have to keep my eye out as I continue to watch the show. I'm patiently waiting for #2 subbed...I take back what I said earlier about what I think of Negima!?'s artwork. After watching a clearer, wide-screen, improved color version of episode 1, I like the artwork two steps better than I did before. Someone said that the director (or was it the art director?) is in love with stain glass window shots in the anime they've done.
