I'm dl'ing episode 26 as I type. I love this series! I'm a big RPG fan. I've found that those people who like RPGs are more likely to enjoy and stick through the series than those that aren't. It is slower paced than a lot of anime out there but I think that's great. Episode 25 had me gasping at the end. I couldn't believe what had happened. Of course, I really can't wait until my dl stops.

Well, that's why I wrote "more likely to enjoy" because there's no way everyone is going to react the same way. I got into RPGing through the .hack series so it'll always be a love for me. :)

I finally finished .hack//roots earlier in the week and I'd like to have my time
back that I spent watching it. The series had potential, but never seemed to
realize it. First, they killed it with the slow, slow pacing of the show. Then,
whenever they'd start to gain a bit of momentum, they'd go off on a tangent.
For example, there was a big revelation (though, you knew it was coming)
about a character in one ep. Then, in the next, that character doesn't even
appear and is barely mentioned. And the nail in the coffin is that nothing is
really resolved. I should've been expecting that based on how the last two
were almost as bad on that, but this one seemed even more disappointing.
A series should be able to stand alone without having to play the games and
read the manga and/or novles in order to enjoy it.

Also, I finished Utawarerumono today. It was an overall decent series and
I enjoyed it. I found the ending slightly disappointing because
I'm not too fond of the "you think it's fantasy, but surprise, it's really
sci-fi" twist. Been done a few too many times now.

I agree with you Kymaera. I was hoping for more impact from the ending of Utawarerumono, but the way how it ended wasn't anything that wasn't already in the back of my mind. :shrug

Thanks for your thoughts on .hack//Roots.

Another question:

So far, nothing aside from what you've seen in that has been revealed about
her in the US release of the manga.

Anya, Negi's past
Anya is the only other student who graduated with Negi that has been named. A year older than Negi, they have been childhood friends for as long as they can remember, and it has been indicated that Anya helped Negi pack for his trip to Japan. During the Legendary Mahora Martial Arts Tournament, Alberio summoned her as she pointed at the cover of the books he was using as his pactio artifact. She is currently working as a fortuneteller in London, so it is unlikely that she will make any major appearances other than in flashbacks. Anya seems like a grumpy girl (often shown frowning), although that could be from the typical reaction of young people towards those they like. (Seiyū: Ryou Hirohashi, VA: Kate Bristol)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Characters_of_Negima

Early in his childhood, Negi came to live with his cousin Nekane Springfield (whom he refers to as onee-chan) in a small village in the mountains of England, even as a small child, he lived pretty much alone in his uncle's guest house, with Nekane coming to care for him during her breaks while studying in Wales. While there, he befriended Anya, a little girl about a year older than him who helped him study magic, and even gave him his first training wand. Negi spent most of his time getting into trouble, hoping that if he were to get into enough trouble, the Thousand Master would come to save him. His antics ranged from being chased by large dogs to nearly drowning in a river.

When Negi was four years old, his wish came true. A horde of demons appeared and attacked his village. The Thousand Master appeared just in time to save Negi from recieving a fatal punch from a demon. With a few strikes and a powerful spell, he destroyed all of the demons but the village was already in ruins and nearly all the people were already petrified. When the fighting was over the Thousand Master saw Negi and recognized who he was. Before departing, he left Negi his staff and told him to grow well and be happy.

After the incident Negi, Nekane, and Anya were moved to a village of magicians in Wales, where Negi immersed himself into his studies. He graduated from Magic School at the age of nine at the top of his class of only five students to graduate that year.

As far as I can remember, she only appears at the very beginning of the manga and volume 8. Here's a page from volume 8: http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/958/ ... v08xp7.jpg

lol...Negma's opening sure works well with the song doesn't it?

By the way, have they come out with the official lyrics yet so we can finally know what she's really saying?

Has anyone watched any of these shows yet? What did you think of them?

1. BLACK LAGOON The Second Barrage
2. Kanon (2006)
3. Negima!?

Redwolf: I thought the fight scenes in the third episode were real nice. I can't wait to see how the ?Kyoto trip looks. 8O

4. La Corda D'Oro ~primo passo~
5. Mamoru-kun ni Megami no Shukufuku wo!

Considering all the stuff flying through the air, I'm surprised I like this as much as I do. :D

6. Gift ~Eternal Rainbow~

It's like Da Capo with a different story structure. It's cliched, but I still like these types of romantic conflicts.

7. Yoake Mae Yori Ruri Iro na
8. Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru
9. Tenpo Ibun Ayakashi Akashi
10. Bartender
11. Yamato Nadesico Shichi Henge
12. Happiness!
13. Tokimeki Memorial ~Only Love~
14. Kujibiki Unbalance

I guess I can't get this show completely off my mind after seeing those crazy antics in the third episode. Have you started watching it Kymaera?

3. Negima:
Already seems a lot better than the last hack job they did. Hopefully it will
be closer to the quality of the manga which I'm enjoying strongly.

5. Mamoru-kun ni Megami no Shukufuku wo!
Ugh! I get the feeling that this was supposed to be funny, but it wasn't.
I don't plan to watch another episode.

8. Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru
9. Tenpo Ibun Ayakashi Akashi
- I don't think I made it through an entire episode of either.

11. Yamato Nadesico Shichi Henge
Not near as good as the manga, but still good.

12. Happiness!
Has enough potential that I'll give another ep at least.

13. Tokimeki Memorial ~Only Love~
Very generic with blah character designs.

14. Kujibiki Unbalance
Well, I was turned off greatly by the changes from the last series. All of
them seemed to be for the worse. Don't plan to continue with this.

It's probably for the best that I don't read manga or else I would be comparing the anime to the manga in my mind while I'm watching it.

Or games for that matter. :)

Well it was just added yesterday on Roberts Anime Corner store website for 12/19 so if there was another change they might now have been notified. Some of the larger online stores get shippments earlier and can release preorders sooner unlike stores such as Suncoast who hold them till the manufacture's release date. Either way it's good that some we have been waiting for quite a while like Fate Stay Night are finally on the release list.

I have some more questions for you all. :)

I'd like to know what you guys think on these series:

1. Claymore - Is the series still going well? I only watched the first five episodes.

2. Dennou Coil - What do you think of it? I haven't seen any of it.

3. Ice OVA 2 - Is the story still hard to follow?

4. Bleach 138-139+ - What do you think of this upcoming manga arc?

5. Bokurano - Did the series go completely off-track from the manga? I heard it did, but I don't follow manga news.

6. Doujin Work 2-5+ - What do you think of it?

7. Umisho 4-7 - Does this actually have a plot or is it mainly jokes with fanservice?

8. Gigantic Formula 17-23 - Did the series get more interesting or is it still going with a laid-back style of pacing? Did it improve?

9. Mushi-Uta 4-8+ - What is your opinion of it?

10. Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei 3-5+ - How is it?

11. "Toward the Terra Special -toward the last moment of soldier blue" - Anyone have any idea what is this about?

12. Zero no Tsukaima 2nd Season 3-10+ - Is it getting good?

13. Zombie Loan 4-10 - What do you think of how it's going?

14. How was the ending of Gakuen Alice?

15. What happened at the end of "Gargoyle of the Yoshinaga's"?

16. Did anyone watch Reideen (the recent series)? How was it? I only got to see the first two or three episodes.

17, How is Seirei no Moribito doing?

and lastly...

18. Does anyone actually feel like watching Touka Gettan in the proper episode order? :D
