I've only watched FMA to around episode 14. My friend just got through watching the last episode and he said he thought it was the best anime ending that he's ever seen. And that's saying a lot coming from him since he's seen a LOT more anime than I have and is much more picky than I. 8O

But he said that the only way the whole series can air on cable is if they heavily censor it since it's so dark.

I have seen thru 47 and was waiting for the last one to come out to make sure I didn't get caught in a bad place to stop again.

Keropi: yes, FMA is dark and angsty in places, but it is also incredibly humorous and light in others. I would probably call it the "best of anime" rolled into one title. It is by no means my favorite anime, but it comes damn close. I'd suggest seeing it if you haven't. I imagine that if they manage to show it on cable that the true meaning of the show will be lost (in translation and in censorship).

I thought the ending was superb and well suited to this type of anime. It will be interesting to see if the movie contnues the story or is simply a stand-alone adventure as most anime movies usually are.

I agree, this series owns me. I loved every minute of it. And this series is going to own me for quite some time. I was just telling my friend that we've gotten so spoiled with FMA that no anime for quite a while will compare to what FMA has done to us.

I am sad that the series is over, but I really like the ending. It could have been a lot worse, and it gives me hope for the movie (I can't wait a year for it to come out! :l ). Plus the manga is still going on and it's going in a totally different direction then what the anime has done. Which is even better!! Also, even though I absolutely love the Japanese voices (Romi & Rie are GODDESSES! *worships*), I'm looking forward to watching the dub on Adult Swim in a month. :D

So for me, FMA is not quite done eating my brain. But it's doing a damn good job of it!! :D

I just finished watching the series. I have never been so happy about an anime ending as this one. Although, I do have one question.

I finished it (see CGI section). I was kind of bummed about the ending, but at least it wasn't as bad as some others out there......coughs and think Wolf's Rain.............very bitter. Anyway......I'm ready for the movie. YAY!!!!

I love FMA! The ending was nice, but it left you with that feeling of another episode coming after it. Which would be the movie in this case I suppose.

The video game thats coming out on the PS2 looks really good. A lot of animation sequences. The link below takes you to Square-Enix's official website for the FMA game. Under special there is another link that takes you to the traliers. One is pretty long:

Hehe, I watched the first episode of Wolf's Rain, and everything about it sent my senses screaming it was going to have a tragic or unfulfilling ending I wouldn't like. I watched three more episodes and never got over that feeling. So I stopped watching it. Seems my intuition was right, but perhaps someday I'll give it another try anyway.

I haven't seen much of Full Metal Alchemist, but I have a minor question about it.

I've been watching Genshiken. In a Genshiken discussion thread, they posted a link to a fanart that showed the muscular, bald guy from FMA in a poster. What is his character like? Is the muscle flexing thing he does a running joke or what? :D

Armstrong? Yes. He flexes, shows off his muscles, sparkles, and talks about his family history a lot. Hmmm... he's also a pretty good guy, and looks out for Ed a lot. He's just kind of... in his own little world.

I started watching it a week ago !! It rules. I am going to watch the rest while I am in New Zealand this month.

Armstrong is great, I am trying to talk my friend into doing me a drawing at no cost of course :-) , Can't really afford sketches from this a series :-(
