Hmmm...now to come up with the next clue:

This story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where the beginning involves a deceased pilot inside a giant robot causing mayhem in a fairly vacant city. Enter a man and woman who eventually stop it temporarily. What follows next is the journey of this man and woman, as they deduce why the world is in the shape it's in as well as why just about everyone they encounter acts so strangely...and violently.

OMG no wonder it souned familiar. I got the manga and anime and live action movie, but couldnt' even think of it. It's been a long time since I read and watched it. ^^;;
