Sorry to butt in here, but is the anime being licensed yet for the US? Right now, I wouldn't have any other way to watch it :l

Nope. Here' s the story I got. . . Pierrot isn't going to release BLEACH until Naruto has run its course here, because they don't want the two competing. Pierrot's theory being BLEACH would overshadow Naruto. D'oh. :P

That was all in response to a question I had asked about the timeframe of Bleach merchandise being licensed here.

Hmm...
well, let's do the math. If Naruto gets one DVD released a month with three
episodes and there's currently 146 episodes, that's ~49 months or over four
years. So, we would be looking at around a 2010 release of Bleach if that's
true.

However, this doesn't factor in that Naruto isn't finished yet. At the current
rate, there is probably another year or two worth of anime left. So, that
pushes Bleach to a 2011-2012 timeframe.

I think that if they wait that long, a good chunk of the audience would have
already have evaporated, but who knows?

lol No, I don't think it will be 2010. But I think they want to give Naruto a good year or two. I'd meant "run it's course" as in them getting a good fanbase and merchandise sales peak. Not the whole dang series running, goof. I should have specified.

Ah, yes. The "let's take what you said utterly literally and piss you off with it" trick :D Now picture, ladies and gents, the sorry state of my life as I get this in stereo... once from the devil you know (the "goof" specified here) and once from the devil you don't (the Spousal Unit (tm), who uses this technique to great effect at least once a day).

And they wonder why I get cranky. Pity me to the heavens, as I will be in the same place as BOTH of them for a couple of days in September. 8O

Out of all the main characters, I'm more of an Ishida fan.....love the hair !!!!

But the other Death God characters are very drool worthy. I want to see all of them before I start choosing my favorites between them.

To be honest I didn't get that much into Bleach until episodes 8-9. Those episodes gave me something to look forward to because those two episodes had the bittersweet tone that I like. It was then that I felt a kinship with Ichigo. After that, I thought the story kinda fell a bit. Not bad episodes, but not quite as involving as those two eps. So my interest retreated a bit. But then episodes 16-17 were real nice. The coolest up to that point I thought. 8O

After episodes 16-17, the stage was set and it was time to get down to business. It had me wondering what would happen next. Then the story kind of relaxed again. The lull before the storm as it were. Then in the late twenties the episodes became addicting with exciting cliffhangers that made me eagerly anticipate the next episode. And it's still going now building up on what was there before. Very addicting and with so many interesting characters. :D

Marie!!!!! Give poor Ichigo a chance! Cocky? Yes. But he can afford to be. ;) He's earned the right. And, trust me, he does show several VERY endearing qualities as the show progresses. :)

*sniffles* Don't judge Ichigo too soon.

Same with me, Keropi--it took a long time to get really into the anime. I had downloaded 26 episodes though, so I figured I'd see it through that at least. I can't believe how addicting it is now though... so awesome! :D

A manga reader said they thought the most emotional fight was the one just starting in episode 43+ here.

I can't comment on that since I don't know of any of the future fights in the manga, but the villain in episode 43 is particularly nasty. I mean....I knew they were nasty already, but this episode puts a real emphasis on how soulessly nasty and heartless this person is. :l X| :kaioken
