I've heard it's really good, but it is also shounen-ai (or has some very shounen-ai leanings, as I've heard from some that it doesn't seem like the original manga author meant it quite that way, though she was obviously capitalizing on pretty boys, like most shounen-ai). So, if you're into that (I'm not) it would be a good one to check out. I also hear that the plot is rather confusing, too.

I'll third Yawara! I loved it, and luckily for me, the last episode I got was at a perfect breaking point (end of the world? cup in South Korea), though I still want to see the romance develop some more. :D

Also? Thanks for telling me that gossip. I will remember it.

I've never seen anything along the lines of shounen-ai, so this will be a new venue for me. Maybe I'll like it??? Everything's worth trying out at least once (except for eating oysters, skydiving, and swimming in spaghetti noodles).

I read that Loveless is more of a serious tone than most animes. And yes, I hear the plot is very deep and confusing. But if anyone likes a challenge, then he/she should check it out. If I do see it, I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I'll chime in again to say yes I've seen Loveless. I have the DVDs, sketches, a rilezu and some of the manga so I guess you could say I like it. There's a play on boy/boy and girl/girl relationships but nothing graphic in the anime. One of the best things about it is it's short. It's only 13 episodes. :)

I usually decide to watch an anime based on both the storyline and the visuals. I've noticed for me that if I wind up not liking both, I don't like the anime. So here's a couple of visuals if you want to take a sneak peek.

Can you hear this fangirl squee?!

A teeny update: I saw a package in the mail and said "Yes, 12 Kingdoms!"

FullMetal Alchemist.

I ordered the former one first, so getting FMA confused me just a little bit, but so far, I must say that it's been pretty good. I'm on episode 8 or 9, about the Philosopher's Stone, and while I'm used to some blood and death, this:
When that guy merged his daughter and the dog together to make the Chimera
that really spooked me to no end. And then what happened afterward:
That other guy with the weird arm put the chimera out of its misery
Wow.

Very intense, but I'm still hanging in there. Alphonse is just the CUTEST!

Hi y'all,

So I've finished watching FMA. I also watched the movie and both were terrific! Bittersweet endings for both the TV series and the movie, but very befitting, I think. In honor of such a great show, I've changed my avatar to General Hughes. ;)

So now I am on The Twelve Kingdoms. After the first six episodes, I was starting to have my doubts about it, but I thankfully kept hanging in there and now it has piqued my interest indefinitely. So it looks like you won't be ending up owing me money, EoP. :D
