In response to RahOtaku... (didn't want to quote that large spoiler :D )
I have to say ewwwwwwwwww to that as it was mentioned in the manga that Urahara and Yoruichi are related. I know that sometimes things get rather uh, incestuous in anime, but still. Ewwwww.
Maybe as I get further along in the manga the answer will come up? It would be an interesting filler...

At Yoruichi's first appearance (right before Rukia runs away). Urahara picks her up, and Jinta asks Tessai who the cat is. His response:
Owner's last relative
Not sure if that really is a spoiler or not, I just don't want angry responses for ruining anything. :P

Weird. :?

This is what I get according to Viz's translation (Vol 6 Ch 51 pg 159):
Jinta: Hey, what's with the cat?

Tessai: That's Mr. Yoruichi. He's the boss's best friend.

Jinta: Really? His best friend's a cat? Our boss is kinda.... pathetic.

Tessai: Hmmm, I can see how you might think that.
But, I took a look at manga-rain's scanlated version and this is what they say:
Jinta: What happened? That cat is...?

Tessai: Its name is Yoruichi. It is the boss's only relative.

Jinta: Heh... his only relative is a cat... Seems like our boss is... very pitiful.

Tessai: ... Sigh... I guess you could say that.
So... seeing as there is a conflict of translations, I went straight to the original raw which says (and I'm only going to bother with the pertinent part):
Tessai: 店長の無二の親友なのですよ / tenchou no muni no shinyuu nano desu yo / That is the store manager's unique close friend. (or those whereabouts)

親友 = shinyuu = close friend
Therefore, I'm going to say that manga-rain made a mistranslation, and I'm sticking to that they're just close friends.

Oh, what? So I'm anal. Leave me alone. =P

I wonder how the manga compares to the anime. I thought I seen it in the subtitled version I watched also.

I thought Episode 51 was real funny. :D
You gotta love Ken-chan. He just doesn't give a damn. :D

That's very interesting, Vampy. Thanks for the research! /thx

I personally prefer Viz's translation, so I'm going to stick to that. But I don't think that the kids are Urahara's love children. If they were, wouldn't they know who the cat was? Unless... they don't know that Urahara is their father. But that seems to stretch it.

Woohoo! That was a good episode! I'm glad they're getting back on track with the story.

Anyway, I just wanted to mention something about the fansubbers. I used to watch Lunar or Bleach Society's versions and then I compared the two and found Bleach Society's to actually be a more accurate translation.

Well, I didn't see either of those groups with episode 51, so the choices were Dattebayo (who I watch for Naruto subs) and Bakakozou who I've never heard of but claim they are somehow related to Bleach Society.

I downloaded the episode by both groups and for some reason assumed Dattebayo would do better with it. Wrong! I watched both completely and can say in the future, provided they are released on the same day, I will only download Bakakozou's version.

So if you only watched Dattebayo's version, I highly suggest you download Bakakozou's version, especially if you aren't reading the manga. There are a few subtle things that are left out in the former's translation. While they won't change the story immensly, they definitely explain some things and highlight some interesting tidbits.

Episode 51 was a lot of fun! I enjoyed it a lot. And those upcoming fights look good too.

I don't think Bakakozou's is going to fansub Bleach after episode 51. I seen a note from them saying it was going to be the last one they sub. We'll see though. Maybe they're preparing to start fansubbing show(s) from the new season that's starting on October 1st.

I got Bakakozou's version last night, but I'm still going to get Bleach Society's version because I'm more used to their translation style.

But you do know we're all EVIL for watching it, don't you?

"Bad Kay! Bad! Must spank!!" :wack :ewhip:

That was an utter hoot. Maybe a "literal hoot" is even closer, as there were a couple of moments when I just honked out loud laughing. You know the kind... where you're minding your own business, watching the show, and suddenly a BLAT! comes out of your mouth. I loved it.

The ending was a perfect transition, too. It had just that edge of scary about it that gets us ready for the next round...

*happy!*
