Ah! There were a couple of titles I thought it might be, so I’m glad I got it on the first try!
Now…moving from the girls to the guys:
Yet another adaptation of one of the masterpieces of Chinese literature, this epic tale has been remade with the sexiest of seiyū,
and with character designs so beautifully bishie that gamer fans are left wondering what has become of their warriors.

The minimum draft age has been dropped and teenagers are being drafted into the army to pilot mecha to hold off the alien invaders. This series follows the lives of one of the platoons and the ways they are dealing with the fighting..and the casualties. The main characters are a pair of mismatched characters who must learn to pilot a tandem mecha together: the antisocial pefectionist girl and the laid back goof guy.
