One, in pursuit of a year of free food, while the other, desperate to win an object of his desires, which was so close within his grasp long ago. A challenge is made, involving the new generation to fight in their stead.
Thanks! I was pretty sure I was right, ‘cause it fits the description. But then, there could always be some show I don’t know about that fits even better.

The name of this show is also the name of the label that a group of fashion students create their designs under.
Having a Father and Grandfather who are the top Robot Scientists has its ups and downs. You don’t get to see much of your absentee Father, but to keep you company, Gramps can build you your own older brother.
