Here's another old one. In honor of the recently departed, this series was about a family of four. The oldest son was slow, while the younger was a genius, and the father stole the show.

Although there have been several incarnations of the series, it hasn't been on tv in a few years. But the characters are also popular advertising pitchmen.

The creator was also responsible for an early magical girl series.

Just thought of an important clue. This is a gag comedy series, with no overall plot. It's not as shocking as Shin-chan, but more silly than Sazae-san.
