How do you watch your anime

I like Japanese myself. There is a very different audio sensibility in the original versions.

I prefer japanese. Most of the english voice acting isnt too great.
And I just like watching it the way it was intended to be seen ^_^

Hey, hey! Gimme a third option! How about both ways? ;) It depends on my mood (and if anyone is watching with me), but everything I have seen I will watch either way.

I like it in English - but in saying that, a lot of English Actors used for Anime are Craap. So I enjoy Japanese much more...
But if they were of the same quality I would prefer English...
Depending on the Anime too - will it loose it's feel using English... X|
...just one more

Original is the best way for me. I want to see it the way how the animators intended the show to be. Plus, I'm studying Japanese at my college, and listening to anime I learn a lot. 8O

The dubbing is usually less than satisfactory, so I don't even bother with the dubbing.

Yeah, I like leaning bits of Japanese from watching anime too. :)
I can now say "inuyasha was brought to you by the following sponsors"
in Japanese...how useful. ^_^;;

When I buy the DVD, I first watch in English so that I can SEE the anime. When your eyes are constantly moving back and forth from the sub to the animation, you miss some of either one, and it tends to tax my eyesight. I'm not as young as I used to be. Then I like to watch the subbed version.

I'm not the purist that most of you are. I don't have that much problem with the voice actors. The only DBZ voice that I think is definitely better in Japanese is Vegeta's.

I personally like Japanese, for me I dont even know that I am reading it, this may sound stupid but its like I just understand it, reading the subs comes natural, I have no clue I am even doing it, but I dont mind english if the voice actors are good and nothing is cut out, I think in Canada YTV tried to make it cheaper and they changed all the voices around and they where just shitty, I dont know if it was the same in the US, I assume it was different because I downloaded the uncut ones and they where the same, but I voted Japanese, in some rare occasions I dont care though

I usually only watch anime in Japanese. But I don't think less of anyone if they only watch anime in English. :D

Sometimes for a different change of pace (and if I like the anime enough) I will watch the anime in English.

Usually drama anime in English sounds a lot better to me than comedic anime in English. :shrug

Wow! What an old post. 8O
I love watching anime in its original japanese with subtitles. Dubs seem to be getting better nowadays, such as the ones you see on TV like Inu Yasha & Naruto. However, I still feel the best is watching it with the original japanese voice actors. :)

Japanese. The quality of the voice acting is almost always far superior. Also, many companies often make dramatic changes to the dialog for the english dub. Sometime this seems to be to make it match lip movements, but sometimes the changes defy explanation. I don't know if they thought they could do a better job with the script or thought it wasn't "english friendly" enough. :( It also helps to pick up on japanese, as someone else said. :)

Depends, if the dubbed version's out, I generally watch it in English. If not I watch it in Japanese. Funny thing is once I've watched the undubbed version, I generally have trouble watching the dubbed. Once you've got it set in your head what things should sound like, the change is upsetting X|

I have stepped into a portal of space and time...

such an old thread! And I can't believe I didn't post in it years ago!

Anyway, like kittens I watch both.

First in Japanese with sub and then dubbed. Watching enough anime I've learned that sometimes both sub and dub are not what is really said in Japanese. 8)
