anyone else ever seen these anime signs?

Post by thrance »

on ebay, they have some backlight signs from im guessing some black market hoong kong buisness. the sellers always vanish, but new ones pop up, always from hong kong, about 3-4 sellers at a time. they have tons of various signs, and recently, anime ones. an example is this DBZ one

I figured some of you might be intrested. I myself, a while back, decided to try one, got a lexx sign, wanting a few others such as an x files one and ps2 one. mine came, in about a month, just in styrafoam, with simple directions and parts paper. so, i dont know if the current sellers will ship, im sure they will, if you do decide to bid. mine came slowly, but in perfect shape, works fine. just do a search for neon sign on ebay because sometimes the anime names dont work. ive seen this, a naruto one, ghost in the shell, and some others

for the dbz one, ive seen red and white versions. they seem to have everying under the sun from cars, to tv shows, to comics, to movie studios and sports teams etc.

i know these have to be illegal, but sometimes, what the hell. the shipping is high, which makes it about what you would pay for it normaly im guessing, 20-30 bucks if these were official. oi, must get the x-files one some day

I think they just crank 'em out in a back room, thrancey. They have 'em with "official" Lord of the Rings logos too.

These glass-etched plates are coo, I'd but them if they were larger as they'd look amazing hung up. Problem is that it uses a power standard/connection not suitable for me so I'd have to have it converted and I'm no electrician...
I was keen to buy the AKIRA sign but I'll have to miss out :l

Oh yeah, I forgot to say, though I think most state in it, its not glass, its hard plastic.

Krafty, dont they have plug convertors? My brother had to get one for his tv from spain to here in the states.

I just figured, some of you here may be intrested in these things.

The one I got, of the Lexx tv show, is white light. I didnt think it was going to shed as much light as it did though! I wonder if the colored ones will be as bright or not.

Plug converters? Sure, I'll look into it. But I'm always a little cautious when it comes to electrics because it's not just the plug itself that may be an obsticle but the current too. I'm sure it'd be alright so I may buy one or three in the near future ^__^

i dont know what it is over there, but we have a place called radio shack. its an electronics store. if you have a chain like that there, or radio shack itself, they should have the plug convertors which also regulate the power to the right ammount.
