The Eyes Have It! (New waste of time/game)

Thought I'd try this and see how well it goes.

I'll post five pictures of anime characters and ask you to identify them. The
catch is that I'll only post their eyes. See if you can figure out who it is just
from that.

Some rules to help things along:
- Unless otherwise specified, I'll only post things from anime/manga series
that have had at least one volume released in the US
- I'll try to use screencaps/official art or fan-art that I feel is really close to
the original style.
- Post your guesses (with the appropriate number so we know which you
mean) and as people guess correctly, I'll reveal the full images.
- Limit your guesses to once in a 24 hour period to allow all a chance to play.

What?! You didn't think I actually had a guess, did you?! Though I did guess the show that 1 and 5 are from, but I would have had to google 'em to get a character name.

Though I do agree with Shellie that #4 looks like Ed--upsidedown. #3 is looking mighty familiar right now, too.

This one was a bit more difficult just due to the orientation
