Ergo Proxy, info please

I've seen the previews for this. They look great, but as you know that can be deceiving.

Has anyone seen the show and can you give me your opinion about it.

Thank you in advance! :^^:

I'm with Monkeyboy here. I've seen enough of the production materials
to be interested but would like to know if it's actually worth my time.

Well, I'm not sure what your taste is, though I really like it. I'm only up to ep 10 (caught myself up yesterday). It may be just me, but this show has a nice GITS feel to it. I'm not saying the story is the same, so don't get me wrong. Try it out for the first 3 episodes.

I've also watched it up to eps. 10 (eps. 11 just came out last week, but I'm waiting for a better sub ) and I agree with Ashura in that it definitely has a GITS SAC feel to it. It's also reminiscent of Witch Hunter Robin/Wolf's Rain as far as the show's pacing, has hints of Battle Angel plotwise, and somewhat of a Blade Runner style and mood.

If any combination of these are up your alley, then I highly recommend you give it a try. 8)

Well, I just finished watching the final episode and I gotta say that I'm very pleased that I went with my gut and invested the time seeing this series all the way through. Looking back, along with the other shows previously mentioned, I now see a lot of thematic similarities between Ergo Proxy and Paranoia Agent as well as hints of EVA & Big O (sans the mechas). What a great ride, all the way through (and believe me, there are many surprises along the way). This is definitely not a show for those who don't have the patience to sit through very little action to offset the dark, brooding mood and excessive dialogue that pervades throughout the series. But if you like a good story with an underlying ultimate moral disguised as a riddle hidden in a puzzle wrapped in an enigma that questions everyone & everything, then you should think about giving it a chance. That and...
you should be pleasantly surprised with the ending - which is a nice change from anime along this same vein.
As far as I'm concerned, Manglobe just gets it.
