Anyone get Encore WAM channel?

They're showing Mirage of Blaze (for quite some time now, it's again on the last half of the show). They're also at the beginning of another run of Gokusen, which is quite interesting.

The art style is somewhat like Hana Yori Dango (but with less attractive kids, for the most part). The closing song and art is very nice.

It's the story of the granddaughter of a yakuza kingpin, who is the heir apparent. Nonetheless, since the death of her parents, years ago, she wanted to be a teacher, and finally gets her wish, but at a school for the worst of the worst. She has to keep her yakuza connections secret from her employers, while trying to bring the best from her reluctant students. The language can get pretty *frank* at times!

The show is pretty entertaining, and I do enjoy the dubbing. The girl playing the lead has a nice range between the "demure" teacher speaking and the street-rough talk that slips out sometimes. Apparently, this was also done as a live action series (there are two seasons, with different students), but I'm not sure which, the live-action or the anime is truer to the manga (I've seen 13 volumes, but don't know if that's complete.)

The new eps air at 4:30pm each day, 7 days a week (Mirage is at 4pm), with repeats at 1:30 am, and 6:30 am following that.

I'm still waiting for the Strong Sexual Content as promised by the warning before each Mirage of Blaze episode.

Lol. With Mirage, I'd settle for Unconfused Sexual Innuendo. Or unconfused anything.

As far as S. content - I think that's the attempted same-gen kiss, a fake same-gen kiss, a flashback vaguely implied (hetero) rape, and an attempted same-gen - ah, positioning. Somebody loosens a tie at some point. Heavy.

And that flashback to what Naoe did to the girl in the previous life - was the other guy on the floor all the time? I'm so confused.

In other words, you're saying that there's absolutely NO sex?

Yeah, Mirage of Blaze is totally tame. I think they kiss in the OAV tho.
It's been a long time since I've seen them, but I recall being let down

Still a good series and story, but it's not hardcore yaoi, by any means.

Yeah... I had never heard anything about MoB being a hardcore yaoi series so I was surprised when I saw the "Strong Sexual Content" warning. I guess, what, they used that 'cause there's no "Boy's Love" warning or "Kinda Gay" warning?

Stupid WAM... getting my hopes up like that...
