Will they make another FY?

Post by duotrouble »

I've been reading Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden lately. I love finding out about the Genbu prietess. I'd love to also see another series for the last of the 4 prietesses to come out as well but I know that could be asking for too much. My question is has anyone heard if they might consider making Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden into an animated series? I would REALLY love to see that! :D
Can you hear this fangirl squee?!

I think they should do Absolute Boyfriend before they do Genbu. Although the art in Genbu is gorgeous.

DT if you are looking for something in the line of FY might I suggest Saiunkoku Monogatari? It's got bishies galore, even her father is hot in his "wolf" get up, and some mysticism. If anything it passes the time.

Yeah, well . . . Eikoden came from a novel that (if I remember correctly) wasn't even written by Yuu. Someone came up with the idea: "Oh! What if a fangirl got into the FY world?" Of course, she gave her permission for the novel and received royalties for it, but it wasn't all that great to begin with. Most (if not all) of the novels written after FY were not written by Yuu. She just did the art for them (about 10 pics each, give or take). I read the one about Tasuki's history a few years back, and it wasn't all that grand in terms of plot, etc. I won't go into the bad style of writing, since it was a fan translation.

As for an anime series . . . I don't know. Is it popular in Japan? If so, I'd imagine that you'll be seeing one eventually.

Yeah, Eikoden was still trying to examine Suzaku and Seiryuu. Those stories are finished. NO MORE!!! But Genbu and Byaku (which I know is spelled wrong X| ) still have interesting stories yet to be told. I agree that Absolute Boyfriend should have an anime too. *drool*

birdie, is that series anime or manga or both? :)

Right now I'm watching the anime, and hopefully soon the manga is going to be scanlated, but it started out as novels.
