This seems like a strange little anime. I've heard about it in the past but I've never
seen a single episode. The commercial they aired was of him running back and forth in "full moon".
I also spotted a commercial for Dirge of Cerberus, the Final Fantasy 7 game. Can't wait for that!
It was on British TV a few years ago but I didn't like it, quite shouty, scribbly and weird.
I thought it would have been on US TV ages ago since we tend to get stuff a long time afterwards

People on my local con forum remember it being on TV. Even some really young (20 yrs) people.
But, I never heard of it until they started going "OMG ShinChan is lisenced".
I seen one of the Crayon Shin-chan movies years ago and thought it wasn't bad.
Like others have said, Shin-chan is kind of like a younger version of Bart from the Simpsons. In the movie he did crazy things like making fun of his mother's bust size. I thought the movie was kind of funny at the time.
...plus that movie had the only anime character I've ever seen with my name. So I remember it for that too. <---j/k
Been watching this show and must say that I can't get enough of it. I hear it a far cry from the original, but would still love to see the original japanese episodes.
admittedly, i hated it at first... i still havent figured out the dubbing- surely, since it is an old anime, the jokes have been re written? id love to know what they were saying originally...
there are two cels of shin's mom on YJ right now... artwork does pop up occassionally. i'll see if i can find the links. *EDIT i couldn't find them- i think the auctions ended... but i dont think anyone bid(?) so they might be reposted. ^^*

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
