Characters you love, but wouldn't want to be friends with?

What characters, from any anime, do you love dearly, but just couldn't deal with as friends?

For example: You love Lina Inverse (Slayers), but she'd probably eat all of your food, borrow money but never pay you back or expect money in return for favors, and blow up your personal things if not your house.

What a hilarious and clever question! Makes me think about the psychological aspects of characters I love. I'm sure there's several anime characters I'd rather not meet in person or hang out with.

I love Black Jack. I mean, I really really love him. But I don't know how much I could stand him in person because he's so emotionally distant. He's only had one real love of his life and she died, so he tends to be a depressing sort of fellow. Too stoic and professional for my tastes. I need a guy with a better sense of humor, someone who doesn't take life so damn seriously all the time.

D from Vampire Hunter D, for the same reasons above. He's too stoic and emotionally dead inside to be tolerable in person. I like him as a character, but there's some aspect missing from his personality; he's too one-dimensional for my friendship.

Akiha Tohno (Tsukihime) - She wouldn't be an very easy person to deal with not to mention she's also dangerous on several levels.

I like her character a lot though.

Misuzu Kamio (AIR) - Being friends with her wouldn't work out very well for her if you know what I mean. (spoilers) **cough** **cough**

Tsukushi Makino (Hana Yori Dango) - I might get hazed by other students.

If the hazing weren't there, I would be okay with it though.

Suigintou (Rozen Maiden) - I would have a very difficult time dealing with her. She could be fiercely loyal if I ever got her trust, but I don't think she would ever admit to it even if she were.

Tamaki Kousaka (To Heart 2) - I prefer liking her from afar.

If she likes you she's nice. But she's NOT nice to people that get in her way and a lot of gamers don't like her for that reason.

Much agreed! My cats make for better socialization than he would!

Vash the Stampede: Sure, he's likable and fun to be with, but so is a frat boy....and most of those don't have homicidal brothers (Knives)! o_o Plus, he'd eat all my sweets and hog the donuts and the remote control and I'd have to drag him out after a month of him chasing at my place and messing it up.

Same for Goku-- he'd eat all our food. But he would probably counter that by gonna shopping for more...yet a Saiyan feeding frenzy scares the bejeebers outta me!

Saiyuki groups-- Sanzo-ikku: um...I have seen how they've acted. I would not want them as houseguests. -_-" But Kougaiji and his group; well except Lirin; is always welcome! So nicely behaved. I'm sure I'd have fun chatting with Yaone and Doukugaiji(sp?), but I think Kou would just sit and put up with it though. *pout* he don't like humans much.

from Fruits Basket-- Tohru would make me a little nuts and I would feel bad for yelling at her, so I really wouldn't want to hang out with her. Arisa and I would probably get into a catfight about something dumb. And I would most likely awkardly hover by Hanajima's side because I like goth people.
As for the Sohma's: I would actually like to hang out with Shigure, even though our signs are polar opposites (I'm the dragon); I could put up with Ayame--as long as he could refrain from his annoying yelling; with Hatori, I'd either stare or be extremely shy, because I like him. I would like to befriend Kyo cuz he seems really cool, but wouldn't want to hang with Yuki...there's just something off putting about his attitude.

Shido (nightwalker)-- I'd be a bit nervous having a vampire as a friend, honestly, but could deal.

Excel Excel (Excel Saga)-- Tell her to stop shouting or get the heck away from me and maybe even hit her.

Chad (Bleach)-- I hang around him just cuz he doesn't talk much and isn't noisy (if you haven't noticed, I like quiet). Plus, Chad's pretty awesome anyways, no?

Well, on a Slayers note, I think Xelloss is a fun character,
but I'd wanna hit him with a mace myself if he were real.

Vicious from bebop... I absolutely love his character... but irl he's scare me ****less.

Harry MacDougal from Outlaw Star - again he's scare me ****less, never know what i could say that might set him off.

On the flip side... an anime character i -love- and would love to be friends with is Chad from Bleach, he is quiet, honorable, and just seems like the all around good guy. I <3 Chado ^_^

You know, I never thought about it that way, but it's sooo true!

Honestly, most of my favorite anime character I'd love to be around. I tend to like the goofballs, and, well, that's how I am in real life, too.

I don't think I'd like being around Sanzo . . he's too grumpy and he smokes too much. Sesshomaru would probably wander off and leave me alone. Other than that, most of the guys I like are friendly goofballs--even though some do border on the conniving side.

This really is a great topic. Even though there are probably many anime characters whom I love but couldn't stand, I think I might want to meet them anyway because I would have to ask them how they do their hair like that every day!!! And other such questions ^.^

Sailor Moon - Love Usagi and even though she would irritate me I think that we would get along fairly well- although we would probably fight over food! I would definitely not get along with Rei when she is in her usual mood - don't like bossy people who are full of themselves! I am more of the shy type ^.^ I think I might get along the best with Sailor Jupiter...she really seems the most easy-going of the bunch. Of course I would love to meet Catzy, I think we would get along great because we both love makeup, and girl-chat and fall in love with the wrong people waaay too easily...just as long as we didn't fall for the same guy!

AMG - Belldandy would drive me crazy even though I would love to be more gentle and wise like she is. Plus I think she would steal my boyfriend away!!! Urd would be a bundle of fun on a night out!

Fruits Basket - Even though as Okuni said Yuki has a condescending personality, I think I would get along with him fairly well because he showers everyone with kind compliments once he actually talks to them...what more can a girl who needs attention ask for?

Escaflowne - Van!!!! I would hang out with him all day! Enough said, I love Hitomi but she would probably get on my nerves a little. I really wouldn't want to hang out with Merle either. I would love to meet Naria!

I totally thought of Vash at first too! He'd eat all my sweets and then I'd have to kill him.

I third the motion that Chad would make a great friend.

I also like quiet guys and Chad is so loyal.

I wouldn't mind being Terry Bogard's (Fatal Fury) friend but if he fell in love with me, I'd most likely die. For some reason, his love interests end up with short life spans.

i love her~ she's hilarious. but she's a little too crazy for my taste. poor unico had to chase her around for the entire film. she's the first character to ever make unico lose his temper!

I wouldn't want to hit him with a mace... but I wouldn't exactly want him hanging around me, either ^^; He makes the series fun for me, but if he's hanging around someone, it's generally bad news for them ^^;
