Inuyasha fans~ please read!

Post by Caroline »

hi guys,

i am a closet-fan of inuyasha and had a couple questions! i admit, i stopped watching the series several months ago when i moved to LA. *sorry!!!* life got in the way... X|

1- has the entire series already aired here in the States? how many episodes are left, or is it already over? i know the finale already aired in japan.

2- i heard a rumor that Rumiko is writing new manga for Inuyasha, and that the animation may be continued? is this true?

3- can some IY fans please recommend similar anime that would appeal to me? are there other Rumiko Takahashi (or non-Rumiko Takahashi) anime's i would enjoy? i know of ranma 1/2...

sorry for all the questions! as you can tell, i'm not incredibly well-versed in the world of inuaysha, but i do love the story!

thanks for reading! :)

I'm not sure if it all has aired on CN yet. I do know that the dvd's are not finished yet.

From what I have been told the IY manga is still being written but there are no plans to continue the anime. One can hope that there might be some more movies in the future.

As far as other series you might like...

Mermaid Forest is based on a manga Rumiko wrote. Ranma 1/2 , Maison Ikkoko & Urusei Yatsura have all been made into animes.

If you like the depth of the story & artwork from IY you might check out some of these...
Chrono Crusade
Kiddy Grade
Mai Hime
Stellvia
Ah My Goddess TV
Read of Die OVA & TV
Blue Seed
Nadesico

Some newer ones
Tsukiyomi Moon Phase
Lunar Legend Tsukihime
This Ugly yet Beautiful World
Eureka 7

Yes, Inuyasha wrapped up on Adult Swim a couple of weeks ago. I hope that helps some! :)

1. Yes, Adult Swim finished airing it a while ago. They are currently airing the third go around on the final 30 episodes of Inuyasha.

2. I heard the same rumor. So far it's still a rumor. It looks like the manga is about to wrap up so who knows? That's the whole reason the series stopped anyway was because it caught up to the manga.

3. Honestly, Inuyasha is the only RT anime I've ever seen so I can't recommend any at this time. However, you can always look at the titles in my cel gallery to see what one Inuyasha fan also likes to watch.

I enjoyed Mermaid Forest, it's a short anime but the story line was interesting to me.

I'll have to check out some of the other shows listed by you JWR! I've only seen half posted on your list, and enjoyed them too.

Takahashi-sensei said that she wants the manga to go to at least 500 chapters. Chapter 482 just came out this week, so we still have a ways to go. Not to mention that just when it seems like the story is on the verge of wrapping up, it's nowhere close to.

The past year of reading the manga has kind of been painful. And yet I plunge on...
