What's up with Tsubasa?

Does anyone know if CLAMP made a third season of Tsubasa Chronicles?

This winter I saw all kinds of articles saying the third season was going to start the beginning of May. Now, I can't find anything about it. Anyone know what's going on?

I read something recently that said that they were not making a third season. I wish that I could remember where I saw it.

I thought it had some interesting moments (the adventure in the "Sleepy Hollow" world was nicely thought out) but I lost interest sometime in the long Oto/Fairy Park LARP story arc. I'd be more interested in a second season of xxxHolic, which seemed much better done though weak on an overarching story arc to hold the one-off stories together. (But you could say the same about Mushishi.)

I couldn't find anything Tsubasa related on Moonphase's upcoming anime list. So there doesn't seem to be a confirmation for a third season airing in the near future.

July is not that far away and most upcoming July anime titles have already been listed (albeit without exact airing dates). So if it is upcoming it probably wouldn't air until at least the September season. That's when the 24-26 episode long anime tend to air anyway in the Spring or Fall seasons.

Ah well, I'll keep hoping that a third season does come out. But I won't hold my breath then.

You might have seen it here in this May 18th 2007 ANN Answerman article which I just happened to stumble across (it's about 30 percent of the way down the page):

It says that the third season of Tsubasa Chronicles was cancelled.

Looks like I'll just have to wait for the manga to publish over here. It should be done in two years after the manga ends.

All they needed was one more season to wrap everything up.

There are some rumors floating around of another (OVA???) animation attempt at xxxHolic and Tsubasa. More info here. Looks promising.
