The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
-I, Robot (Asimov)
this is going to sound extremely ignorant, but as i know nothing about these things... why were they arrested? i thought fansubbing was quietly accepted in this industry? and if it isn't, why are they *just now* being arrested?
if fan-subbing is such a huge problem, then shouldn't that give anime companies the incentive to sub their own products?...
Arresting those people in front of an audience (even if the presentation hadn't started yet) seems excessive. Yes, it is illegal and can cost the license holders a lot of money, but most fansubbers are not trying to make a profit. I guess they wanted to make a public example, though I think it will probably backfire.
On the other hand, holding a fansubbing panel during a large convention where many of the injured parties are going to be present is a less than intelligent move. It can even be viewed as a bit provocative.
Guys... as Ms. Poe has said if you highlight the bottom of the page you will see "YHBT" which means "You Have Been trolled" which means "fooled" it was just a joke.

They weren't really arrested. It was one of their common pranks they play.
If you highlight the bottom of the "NEWS BULLETIN", there's a hidden phrase:
"YHBT"
Which means" You have been trolled". Meaning You're pretty dumb for believing this kinda stuff and replying to it starting shit.
And, in that phrase...I'm not calling everyone who believed it dumb. The fansubbers are >.</!
And, the police would never arrest a fansubber. Only if they're selling stuff for profit, which they aren't. Plus, if a company went after a fansubber...They'd sue...Send a lawyer instead of the police...LOL.
