MKV or Xvid? For all the new Fansubs they are coming out with an MKV and Xvid version...

Sooooo.....

Which ones do you prefer and why? Image

I download Xvid... because of smaller size... and it seems that there are more seeds for Xvids.

To me, the Xvid quality is great on my LCD monitor?

What would you need the MKV higher quality for? Image

Also, I can not find anywhere a converter that will convert Mkv's to PlayStation Portable format.

They all say they do, but the sound comes out distorted!!!

I used to get only the MKV ones as they have more resolution for similar space, ussually an audio track with better quality, and also they ussually have soft subs.

However i had to start getting the xvid ones too as my HD player (the one for the big HD TV on the dinning room) can't handle all the mkvs that well, and also it has problems with soft subs.

So now i get both if i believe i'll be keeping the series. ^_^

I just about always try to get the MKV version since the video nearly always looks clearer on my computer.

But if the file is in some ridiculous range such as 350Mb-500Mb for 25-30 minute anime in high definition. Then my computer might have problems playing it (the video falling behind the sound in spots). I might get the Xvid file in those cases, but those high processing files don't show up very often.

If it is a series I like, I'll usually download both.

I prefer using the MKV's to watch though.

I dl whichever one comes out first with a fansubbing group I like. I'm not that picky with something I'm going to watch and purge. I'll be picker when I decide to buy that series on DVD.

I am surprised to hear that you are not picky with something. Congratulations.
