New Ai no Kusabi??!?!?!

Ok, so, early last year a friend put me on to the awesome anime/yaoi Ai no Kusabi. It was a great story line and, I tried to get artwork, but found that most of it was destroyed in the early 90's because yaoi was not that popular amung the male dominated collectors.

The few peices that I did happen to snag, cost me an arm and a leg that I DO NOT regret.

So...I am reading about an author turned evil minion, made fanfics based on the anime....

I research the forums and find a link stating there will be a 13 episode anime...
WHaaaaaat!??! Needless to say I am foaming at the mouth rabid fangirl at this point, then it hits me...Desperate times call for rushed, poorly dialogged and pointless remakes of once wonderfull animes....

Jason looks like a pitbul ready to strike >_> (I have a pitbul by the way, so I have no problems with them)

Jason in the shot of the link...doesn't look as intense...Riki looks good though..

I don't think he looks all that different, just a little more intense. I think the new anime is probably going to be good since there will be more time for story.

Lol, He does look kind of the same, but it seems to me like his face is lagging and dropping. And because of the CG he looks kind of sickly pale.

I am eager to see how it all started (REALLY started)
I wonder who is going to play jason? The original VA has passed on....Hope he still sounds smexified

Riki looks good though

*Sigh* Rikki looks just OMG awesome. I just want ONNNNE sketch of rikki in the nude >_> ... I hope they will have production art released for it. Im still waiting for hellsing sketches to show up..

And I must add this. I'm actually in doubt about this remake, now that I am thinking about it more. Mainly because a certain mystery to an anime can make it better.

I found myself asking "What happened before rikki did "enter your thingy here" But, If they make it like Inuyasha (Going back and forth with past/future/present/kentucky) and adding fillers, then...I will just totally give up on remakes.

Yeah, I saw that about a month ago. I'm really hoping the 13 episodes will be better than the OVA. The OVA was okay but it felt very rushed. The artwork isn't my style but I'll be watching.

I don't know whether to be excited or not. I love the original so much, I am hesitant to see what happens when it is redone.

It would be great to see more of the story. So much was left out of the anime. I am not sure if there is enough to make 13 episodes though. There are a lot of sections in the books where the characters don't say much, but are instead thinking about their situations and what they want. I am not sure how that could be transferred smoothly into dialog. I suppose they could have the audience hear the character's thoughts. While that may work okay in a book, I am worried that the shear volume of it would feel overdone in an anime. It could work, but it will be quite a balancing act.

I am not sure how I feel about the new artwork. I really like the old artwork so its hard to warm to the new look of the characters. They both look very different to me. I like the fact that Rikki still looks very masculine. I would hate to see him looking frail or more stereotypically uke. Iason is supposed to be masculine, but he is also genetically engineered for beauty. I don't find the image of him particularly attractive, but maybe its the shadowing and the sour look on his face.
