"Requiem from the Darkness" is definitively more jazzy than the title sounded to be :D

I liked Escaflowne the movie and TV OST's. Yoko Kanno really does the best work

A lot of people like that. Do you like Escaflowne the movie and TV OST's Yoko Kanno really does the best work? I have a stimulating relationship with Sith-Krillin.

Since I've been watching Ergo Proxy lately, I've been enjoying it's opening:

The music and visuals work together to produce an interesting feeling I don't normally get from the usual anime openings. :)

Some years back my friend used to say that the shows he liked more tended to be the ones with higher quality opening songs that he liked more. That was because those anime were tended to have bigger budgets and hence more likely had more money to be able to adapt them properly.

I've noticed there is SOME truth to that...at least with me.

I've made my own mix CDs with songs from Scrapped Princess, Fruits Basket, Pretear, and Escaflowne. I made 'Dance of Curse' my husband's ringtone, 'Memory of Fanelia' my grandma's, and 'Shadow of Doubt' my sister's, because she plays the violin.
I also enjoy the InuYasha OSTs, Bleach, and Trigun.

Maybe a male singer had better fit, no ?...
Intro looked so punchy till the singer sang... a pity :?

About Transformer, isn't Vince Dicola the same that made the "Training Montage" from Rocky IV ??? Sounds to be similar beats after 1:00" no ?
Here is Rocky one (Woot ! back in the eighties :D) :

I also love OST to have some instrumental music to listen to! The background score is the first thing I note with anything I'm watching, and sometimes will tell me if I will love it or not, if the OP theme doesn't do it first. Currently, I've been looking for one to Monster (love the opening theme, and especially when it's done again in piano throughout the shows sad moments).

The best OST I've ever heard was to Sword of the Stranger!! So epic and inspiring!! Love it!! Especially this piece:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySjxUVFhHW8

My other favourites that I listen to often would be Berserk (dark and chilling) and Death Note (anything with a Mass Choir, sometimes in a cappella, has to be good!).

Weiß kreuz has the best theme songs, but not as notable for it's quirky old-school BG track (even though it works for the show). I think Schwarz had the best BG theme! :)
"Like a lonely flower, I wilt a bit. Like a lonely star, I bathe in the evening light. Then with a blank face keep murmuring to someone,
'Ah, I'm not lonely...'"
