Recent anime?
Recent anime?
I've been pretty out of touch with the latest and greatest (or coolest or awesomest...) shows within the last couple of years, so can somebody list some of the more popular shows that are recent? Ones that's been going on for years doesn't count, like Naruto or Bleach. The reason I'm asking is I'm trying to come up with some new anime character ideas to make plushies out of, so ideas are welcome! (preferably shows with bishies ^_~ ) Thanks for helping!

Black Butler and Hetalia have been pretty popular
both here in US and Japan as well.
(both whom have bishies!)
OMG!! You should totally do Panty and Stocking
plushies!!!! X3
I'm so <3 with the show! Its Gainax's newest
merchandising whore..er... series LOL!

Basically if SouthPark had a fling with PPGirls, this
would be its bastard offspring.

Hmm...let me see. Shows with guy(s) in them. I'm just going to be pretty general about this so you have more options:
January 2009:
Hetalia
April 2009:
07-Ghost
Guin Saga
Hanasakeru Seishounen
La Corda D'Oro
Pandora Hearts
Ristorante Paradiso
Sengoku BASARA
Tears to Tiara
Sept 2009:
Aoi Bungaku
Fairy Tail
Kobato
Miracle Train
Tatakau Shisho: The Book of Bantorra
Tegami Bachi (Letter Bee)
Jan 2010:
Durarara
Katanagatari
April 2010:
Hakuouki
Rainbow
Senkou no Night Raid
Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitte Iru
July 2010:
Legend of Legendary Heroes
Sept 2010:
Otome Yokai Zakuro
Togainu no Chi
Psychic Detective Yakumo
These are not necessarily the most popular shows though. Most of the more popular shows lately have been bishoujo...more so than usual.

I vouch for these both on bishie factor!Keropi wrote: Jan 2010: Durarara..... April 2010: Senkou no Night Raid

mmmm Izaya and Aoi...

Thou w/ Izaya I'm sure the fur hoodie and strong
resemblance to a certain ninja has something to do
w/ my fictional infatuation w/ him.

Wow that's quite the list being generated!!
Yeah, irmgaard brought up a good point on how some shows already have tons of officially licensed plushies out there, so I don't want to really compete with that. Several shows I've heard of, but most of them I haven't, will need to do some serious research into this!

If it’s just new shows that were something special that you want to do,
Kuragehime, a.k.a. Princess Jellyfish, which just ended, was very cute and fun.
It was a noitaminA show, so it was streamed on Funimation’s site in the US.

It performed respectably in Japan:

And it was voted Favorite Fall Anime on ANN.

It has only two guys, really, but they both would work well as plushies I think…
