I know! Isn't it the GREATEST! Best news I've had so far in my hellish month.

Well there were some tell-tale signs like the kenshin-tv website, but initially I had thought it was just for the blu-ray release... But others who had bought the PSP Saisen game, thought a new animation was in the works because Saisen used all new CG animation... I'm curious who they'll recast as Saitou however... Either way I'm very happy about the news... HAPPY!

So apparently it's only a two episode OVA and they're remaking the Kyoto arc.....in TWO episodes?!?

Many fans are disappointed, but at least some of them are hoping for another TV series later on.

Yeah, it would be a massive disappointment if the new project only consisted of a condensed remake of the Kyoto Arc, which is by far the most solid part of the original Rurouni Kenshin TV series and the least likely to really benefit from a revisiting. Let's just hope these OVAs are only a warm-up for a TV anime adaptation of the final manga arc, which is what most kenshin fans have really been waiting for.
