I'm not sure if anyone in this community is familiar with Shingo Araki, but he passed away earlier this month. Even if you don't recognize his name, I'm sure many of you have seen his work, and quite a few of us collect from the series he's worked on.

I'm sorry to hear this. While I've mostly just looked at art from Araki-san's series (Saint Seiya, Ashita no Joe, Captain Harlock, Rose of Versailles, Cutie Honey, I find that indeed his loss touches my collection: he was character designer for the 1990s Gegege no Kitaro. And I sat many times with my young daughter on the floor in front of the TV during the 80s to watch Maple Town.
