In my opinion it's a tough call.

On the plus side, the production values are high. The down side is that the storytelling is frustrating many viewers because of what they see as having plot holes and things that don't make much sense. Then the main protagonist is really annoying to a number of people. Many consider him one of the worst male leads of the year. They think the anime went overboard showing his deficiencies.

Viewership seems divided into three camps:

1. The people who consider it to be a good show and are not bothered by what is bothering others.

2. The people who are frustrated and annoyed at the plot and/or the main character. They may have dropped the show already.

3. The people who like it for it's "campy" and unintentionally funny moments.

I thought Episode 12 was pretty good.

As Random Curiosity said, it would have made a good final episode (excluding the lack of follow up). They finally explained background history so that earlier events made a little more sense (especially regarding Gai).

I hope I'll like the last 10 episodes more than the first 12. Maybe this will be the turning point of the series. Maybe...

I have to agree...I liked ep 12 the best so far. I had to check to make sure it wasn't the final episode since it seemed so much like one. Hope continues on this path,

but not happy about what happened with Gai..though that's how the story moves on

Episode 17 has a twist at the end, so if you don't care for Shu you'll probably like this ep.
