Akira Toriyama originally wanted Majin Piccolo, not Vegeta

It's well known Akira Toriyama doesn't like Vegeat although he admits it "was good having him around" Piccolo is his fav' character and I remember hearing he originally wanted him to return to being evil but someone convinced him Vegeta would be the better choice as the fans would really like a rematch between Goku & Vegeta.

Just wondering what your thoughts on this are?

Would anyone have rather seen Piccolo then Vegeta turn on everyone and how do you think this would pan out.
