What'd you recommend..?

Post by BaDMaN »

Hey guy's :D

So as you know, almost every collector is introduced by anime from DBZ..as have i..
Sad to say, this is the only anime i've ever really watched :P
I look around in gallery updates, and notice people grabbing lovely cel's and their own personal wishlist cel's, from other animations..
Ofcourse i can only tell that they are nice cel's, but i can't tell them apart from each other and what ones are more special than the rest..
So i'd like to feel that bit of magic that the owner feel's about their cel, and understand why they wanted it for soo long..
And also, i do need a bit of a change..and to be able to feel that bit of magic myself :^^:

So i need your help to which anime you think i should move on to
And just a little reason why, would help :P
Like programs with a bit of action, a bit of magic and suspense :^^:
Been thinking of moving on for ages, but just could'nt decide..
So really need your help :D

I think this really fits the in the general anime section better than above, since I don't think you're really looking for suggestions for series to collect (specifically), but more for anime to watch. ^_^

That said, I'd probably recommend:
Wolf's Rain
Naruto
Hunter x Hunter
Inuyasha
Slayers
Yuu Yuu Hakusho
Evangelion
Escaflowne

... gosh, so many more but there's a few. :D

Hmm, to ease into the raging sea of anime is a difficult task ;)

I would recommend Cowboy Bebop or Trigun to start your transition...

then depending on whether you like lighter or darker shows...

Lighter stuff...Ah My Goddess, Tenchi, Chobits, Miyuki-chan :)

Action...Outlaw Star, Kenshin, Inuyasha

Darker stuff-Evangelion, Witch Hunter Robin, Hellsing, X, Noir

Stuff to screw with your brain...Lain, Haibane Renmei, Boogiepop Phantom
You fight quite well for being such a ... little man-Android 18

I will only add one since everyone pretty much got what I would say.

Recently, I've fallen in love with The Twelve Kingdoms. Bizarre, magical, not really suspenseful but there are some crazy characters in it! :)

Yes that's why it's cheap. The Kenshin isn't that bad :)

I'll just have to piggy-back on a lot of other people's suggestions. I fell in love with Yuu Yuu Hakusho right after watching DBZ, and Kenshin a short time thereafter. For action, a great storyline and very interesting, developed characters, those are great. For both of these you could start in the middle and kind of figure out what's going on if you had to, but it's always best to start from the beginning. :D And there IS a reason why there are so many Kenshin fanatics out there. :P It really is a great story.

Inuyasha is one I've just started watching, and only catch a few episodes here and there on CN- I think it would be infinitely better if I had started at the beginning as I don't always know who's doing what and why.

All three of these I guess would be action.

Blue Gender is an interesting story, too, and not too many episodes. Better on the pocketbook. It's more of an action/drama.

I've been following that series for a while now. :) The story can get a little complicated at times, but it's definitely a great series.

A prime example of one of the unusual characters is...

I really like Sanshi's character, but you have to admit her design is quite strange. :P

It is a good anime, I really liked it, and it is easy on the pocketbook!

Another one that I don't think I saw mentioned was Scryed or S-cry-ed, and RahXephon. It was different, but good.

Wow, that character design is pretty wild! Looks like the body is catlike?? (cheetah, leopard, something similar), combined with a reptilian tail. 8O

Sanshi has the head and torso of an albino woman, the legs and lower torso of a leopard, and the tail of a dragon. Her design is very unusual. :P

The poll was a really tough one since I absolutely love them all. I picked YYH out of them though, struggle through the first 10-15 eps of character building and you'll be loving the remaining 100 eps. :) In a lot of ways its very much like DBZ, only better art and storyline. ^^;; *runs out, ducking randomly hurled objects* :P :D
