Bad Hair Day?

Ok all you Hunter x Hunter people, I really know nothing
about this series other then there are some really wonderful
cels that I see in all of your galleries. But what's with this
Hisoka. Is he cooler with red hair or Blue Hair? Tell me what
you think - I am sooo confused

Don't ask me to explain my reasons, he just looks so much cooler with red hair. I think the blue hair reminds me too much of a punk rocker. Besides, there's just something special about a red-headed psychopath.

The reason WHY his hair changes color is never explained, but when you wear makeup like that, people don't tend to ask you why you changed your hair color.

As to why the color change, does anyone here know whether the TV version of HxH was started before Hisoka first appeared on the cover of one of the books, or on a color page in Shounen Jump Weekly (does SJW even have color pages)? If this is the case, perhaps the animators were just taking a wild-ass guess at the color of his hair...?

Not to say that I don't adore his evil self just as much with blue/green hair, but the red is just so much more suitable to his personality.

I havent seen too much of HXH, but I've been dying to get a nice cel of Hisoka I love his character!
But if I had to pick which haircolor I prefer more on him...hmmm.. I definetly go w/ red. Hes more psychotic looking in it

Seriously, though, I know I've missed out on a lot of threads lately because I've only been scanning about two sections of Beta -- too much going on in the real world to give the virtual one the attention it deserves. I'm really hoping that this situation improves soon -- in the meanwhile, please don't think I'm ignoring anyone!

Now I've always thought that red hair meant that the person was inherently dangerous... but maybe that's just because I've known too many redheaded females. Is the redheaded male of the species just as unstable?

This is sooo weird. I was considering putting up a similar poll, but instead of color preference I was going to ask whether people thought he:

A. has blue hair naturally (it's anime, it is possible) and then dyed it red.
B. has red hair, which was dyed blue for a while.
C. has an entirely different color hair and both red and blue were dyed.
D. never dyed his hair; it was simply some mutation of genes that caused it to change color.

I never posted it because I thought people might think I was weird for contemplating hair color... silly me!

Anyway, RED all the way. He looks INFINITELY better as a red-head. I have always had a thing for anime redheads, and I think on Hisoka it's much more striking. I think his art overall looks better later in the series, so it's not only the haircolor. However the hair color change for me is a huge bonus. The blue was a bit too muted. Not to mention when he dons the red hair he gets rid of the lavender outfit with the puffy sleeves. It was one of wost wardrobe decisions ever (puffy j-rock coats aside).

I just want to say a huge, public THANK YOU!! to RX for making a wishlist dream come true. I've been dreaming of finding this cel ever since I first saw the scene... I found two cels leading up to it, but never the actual grab. So to open that package from Japan yesterday and hold this beauty in my hands was a major, major, major thrill.
