It eluded us then, but ...tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms further...and one fine morning- So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.

ALUCARD - Castlevania:Symphony of the Night
1. He is Dracula's Son
2. He is a dhampir(remind you of anyone? )
3. He can turn into a bat
4. He can turn into a wolf.
5. He can turn into mist.
6. Just when you think you have reached the top(and finish) of the castle, oh look another castle appears....through the sky.......upside down!
Vote for Alucard!!!
VIVI - Final Fantasy IX
Upon setting our eyes on Vivi for the first time, there was immediate excitement in the air. The return of the classic black mage was perhaps one of the most significant events ever in Final Fantasy history: to the delight of fans everywhere, Square simultaneously paid homage to its days of yore and signaled the end of an era. The ability to take control of a pointy hat wizard on screen was like being served the last piece of nostalgia pie and realizing that you would never taste anything like it again. For many fans, Vivi represents a throwback to simpler times when a good RPG arrived in stores, like, once every blue moon. On top of that, his personality is simply a joy to behold. Of all the would-be heroes that come across our path, few will be more unique or memorable than the magical munchkin. Always pondering the meaning of existence, he continually questioned his validity as a real living being. He wasn’t strong. He wasn’t coordinated. Quite frankly, he wasn’t much of a black mage in his mind. That is, until he realizes the tremendous power within himself and begins to overcome his timid nature. As you watch Vivi grow, there is a possibility that his story may reflect your own inner journey of discovery.
Vote for Vivi!!!
SAMUS ARAN - Metroid
Samus is a bounty hunter fitted with an armor suit with weapons that include a cannon, missiles, and beams. she executes missions given to her by the Galactic Federation while hunting the antagonistic Space Pirates and their leader, Ridley, along with the energy-draining alien parasites called Metroids. Orphaned at a young age, Samus was brought up by the Chozo alien race. They trained her as a warrior and gave her the Power Suit, featuring abilities such as collapsing Samus into a sphere to roll through tight areas such as tunnels. The best part of playing Metroid would be after unlocking the secret ending(playing very quickly) and the revelation that Samus was a lady!!!!!!!!! Not too shabby.......

Ok I’m going with:
1. Ryu - Street Fighter II
as my first vote this round.
Though not as easy as some other characters for first time players…the more experienced gamers found his powerful technique the way to go. And after triumphing in the video arcades…he made a seamless transition to home platforms…
Making for hours and hours of action-packed virtual entertainment!
*edit - wrong word!

My votes go to:
1: Solid Snake - Metal Gear Solid
Solid Snake is the protagonist in the Metal Gear & Metal Gear Solid series. To his resume Solid Snake can add that he is fluent in six languages. He is an expert in scuba diving, mountain climbing, parachuting, and small arms. His IQ is 180. He is both adaptive and intuitive, making him the perfect soldier for any mission. His body is also enhanced with nano-machines which constantly check his vital signs and feed his body nutrients whenever necessary. Solid Snake is a combination spy, special operations agent and mercenary of FOXHOUND, a fictional black operations and espionage unit. He is repeatedly tasked with disarming and destroying the latest incarnation of Metal Gear, a bipedal nuclear weapon-armed mecha and does so not for greed, glory or honor, but because it's the right thing to do.
2: Ryu - Street Fighter II
Ryu is a character from the Street Fighter videogame series. Perhaps the quintessential fighting game character, Ryu is a pretty simple guy. He wears the same outfit wherever he goes – white gi, black belt, red headband, period – and he has the same aim wherever he goes as well. He wants to fight whoever he thinks can make him a stronger fighter.
and
3: Samus Aran - Metroid
Samus is an orphan twice over, parents killed by a vicious pirate dragon named Ridley, and then raised by the Chozo, a now-extinct alien race. It was the Chozo who equipped Samus with physics-defying combat armor, making her the Galactic Federation's go-to girl for suicide missions in the dark, lonely corners of the universe. Samus was more than willing to oblige. It gave her prime opportunities to exact missile-heavy vengeance on the pirates who murdered her family. And that's how we met her. Samus Aran appeared on the surface of planet Zebes, an agile tank on two legs with a cannon on her arm and a contract to fulfill. Kill the pirate leader Mother Brain and destroy all research into a parasitic creature created by the Chozo, Samus' own benefactors, as the ultimate bio-weapon. They were called Metroids, and they became her life's work.

And for my second vote:
2. Sephiroth - Final Fantasy VII
A character (in FFVII) you couldn’t play at all!
And yet, an absolutely indispensable part of the reason you see all the FF titles in this contest.
This game set the bar high, and yes, Final Fantasy VII is still the most popular of ALL the FF games…
due in very large part to the dynamic between the Protagonist and the Antagonist….
From the graceful lines of Amano through his later incarnations in Crisis Core, Advent Children, etc.
Sephiroth dominates the screen with his powerful, beautiful, but oh so tragic presence!
And for those who think he’s not up on the newest platforms…
Well, he can’t be tragic all the time!

This round is officially CLOSED. Check out the results tomorrow.
Since LLslickD is new to not only the game but the forum, I'll count them this time. Next round I will not count them so be careful. Official votes are BOTH name and series. It doesn't make as much of a difference in the later rounds but it's HUGE in the early rounds. And it's the #1 rule for ALL rounds but the last one.syan wrote:Hey LLslickD - you need the game too or else your votes might not get counted.
Can you hear this fangirl squee?!
