Good Xbox 360 Games

Post by logorzat »

I want an Xbox 360 for Christmas but I don't know what the good games to get are. Can you guys tell me what your favorite games are? If you could describe what they're like that would be great.
/thx

I say go check out the ratings and pick like that.

I usually check this site out.

http://www.gamespot.com/games.html?type ... ortdir=asc

Here is a list of all the games over 7.0 rating:

I was going to say the same thing as Harry. Gamespot is the best site for reviews. To test it, first choose a game you already own and love. Then read the Gamespot review to see how it measures up to your own opinion. Be sure to read the entire review, however. The numbers are not always the best indicator. Sometimes a reviewer will dislike a game for all the reasons why I love it. In general tho, they tend to articulate exactly how I feel about games and I trust their reviews above most others.

Also try Amazon. Sometimes real consumer reviews are the most reliable because some of those people are just like you or me: your average Joe. Perhaps take in account a couple of sites when making your final decision.

Fascinating. Sorry I don't have access to that document.

This is true. :P

Of the games listed with a rating of 7 or higher, I'd personally recommend:

Gears of War - May not be your cup of tea, but you might try it anyway.
Kameo - Very solid launch title. Quirky and different, I bet you'd like it.
Dead Rising - But ONLY if you have an HD TV. Otherwise, you won't be able to read the text. Sadly, it was only formatted for HD.
King Kong - I am a big fan of the movie and this game is the best version. Get it only if you loved the movie.
Geometry Wars - One of the most beautiful shooters ever made. You can download this or buy it in a multi-game disc in stores.
Viva Pinata - Think Animal Crossing, but with Pinatas!
Smash TV - Another download game. If you remember this from the SNES days or from the arcade, you won't be disappointed. Good for hours of mindless fun.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance - Walk & thump, beat 'em up goodness.
Dead or Alive 4 - If you like fighting and fanservice.
Uno - Yup. Uno. Card playing fun online.
Lego Star Wars - Hm, you could play this on other systems... but hey!

Basically any puzzle game or shooter. Those are what I like. What's your favorite genre?
