Nintendo Wii - Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Post by Kaije »

Like I said in another thread, this looks to be a killer app title for the Wii, much like Melee was for Gamecube. With much nicer graphics and supposedly full 3D arenas, I believe this will outsell Twilight Princess, and for those of you who don't know confirmed new characters are:

Zero Suit Samus
Snake from MGS
Wario
Meta Knight (kirby)
Pit (Kid Icarus)
Bowser Jr.
Ridley (Metroid)
Link from Wind Waker

The roster is suppose to be 40 characters deep this time around. Melee only had 25 FYI. Also Young Link, Mr. Game & Watch, and the Ice Climbers will not be returning, hopefully a few Pokemon won't be either...

Pikachu is in there too. As well as Kirby.

It does look fabulous. The textures for their clothes are pretty amazing, it's cool to see the "realistic" Mario and Wario. The funny thing is, I'd love to see a new Kid Icarus game now. Seeing his character design in this game makes me hope they do something more with it. Same thing with Zero Suit Samus. A Metroid prequel of some sort would be very interesting.

Nintendo has to pay respect to Pokemon for now till eternity because Pokemon is what saved the company during the dreaded N64 days. It's the one title that consistently did well and gave Nintendo the capital they needed to avoid bankruptcy.

I was talking about confirmed new characters. Fox, Hard Suit Samus, TP Link, Mario, Kirby, and Pikachu are all confirmed returning characters.

I agree with the textures, they look amazing, though Fox's pants seem to tight, especially in a certain screenshot... As for a new Kid Icarus game, I guess we'll see.

I know about Pokemon, but bah, get some interesting ones in there!

That seems pretty well.

Ah, my mistake.

I haven't actually seen Fox yet. Game looks very fun, can't wait. I agree that it will sell very well. Just have to wait and see how well.

I've been following the news of this game pretty closeley (I'm a Melee addict) and I hadn't heard or seen anything about these three characters.

Where did you get this info?
I hope it's true!

1up.com had a special page where they were talking about a broadcast on a Japanese radio station specifically for videogames where the director of the game confirmed those characters and said he wanted the 40-character roster as well as 1-2 more 3rd party characters.
