Those games are pretty good, haven't played them on PSP yet. Would get a PSP for a Star Ocean 2 and FF7 port, but don't think that'll happen.

I don't know.

Say no more. That's exactly why I won't get a PSP. Freaking load times!!!! GRRRRRR!

However, the MGS portable ops game is very tempting. :l

I preordered it today and got the PSP acrylic Metal Gear Solid Case coverings!

Can't wait to play it!

You have to play Tekken Dark Res, before you say anything about portable fighting games.

Also I often download the iso of the games to my 4 Gig Memory card which makes the run without load times.

Also I overclock the CPU at 333mhz and the games actually out perform direct use of the umd.

I do own the umd's, but I'll change them to ISO and use the DeviceHook to emulate the 2.6+ firmware.

All in all you can get the load times to become non existant!

Also the other rpg's aren't really fun to begin with.

Only Valkrie profile and Tales of Eternia are really fun and have good story lines!

Oh well, I'll let you know about Metal Gear Solid tommorrow!

How much did it cost?

That makes sense about downloading the ISO, how difficult is that to do? How often does Sony update their firmware? I imagine they wouldn't want players doing that.

Sounds like a lot of tweaking to get a system to do something it wasn't meant to. If Sony made the product right and programmed games properly, you wouldn't have to do all that. You're basically fixing something that should not need to be fixed.

Can someone please tell me why there is load time in the Darkstalkers game? That's a damn Dreamcast port! Load times destroy the momentum you get in a fighting game. And what's worse, it's a portable game. You're effectively only able to play it in short bursts, right? Most of them are wasted with load screens. Bah!

I've never overclocked a system and never will.

If you don't want to make the iso. then you can simply download it like as a torrent the same way you would download any anime!

It's pretty simple.
How often does Sony update their firmware?
Two months after we break it... So you have to put up with the lag until two months after the games come out!

I've never overclocked a system and never will.
It makes a pretty big difference.... No lag times at all!

Is the file only playable on the PSP? In other words, it's not like an EMU, is it? Honestly, I'd rather play MGS on my computer if possible... hehe.

I know what overclocking does and I don't do it.

Well basically you keep your firmware on the psp to be v1.5

Then the Devicehook emulates the newest firmware.

It basically makes the game think you're using the v2.5-2.8 firmware!

Currently there aren't any emulators for the psp that I know of!
