Fave videogame character - round #6 - closed
Well, for my first vote, I’m standing firm with
1. Ryu - Street Fighter II
It’s true that his character was a very simple and straightforward hero…but that’s because he really was…YOU!
It also wasn’t an online or virtual bad-guy opponent you faced…
most of the time it was your friend standing (or on a home platform - sitting) right next to you!
Pundits often chide video games for being anti-social, solitary endeavors… But that wasn't the case in Ryu’s realm!

And if my first voted for character was all about clear-eyed truth…
My second vote goes to one surrounded by lies.
2. Sephiroth - Final Fantasy VII
True, he wasn’t exactly easy to identify with, like a playable character should be…
He’s a real video game character, in the sense that his character is defined and played by the game itself.
In fact, everything about him, from his otherworldly beauty, to his unmatched strength and swordsmanship,
is designed to distance him from others. This makes him very easy prey for those who want to mislead him.
He’s a Boss/villain that you can have empathy for. Because his life seems a series of “what- ifsâ€

My first vote goes to …
Ryu from Street Fighter II
The classic video game fighter who ruled the arcades in the late 1980s through 1990s.
His Hadouken fireball control combination became the staple attack move of almost every
fighting game to come in the wake of the series, and his very character design acts is an
instantly recognizable logo of ...
STREET FIGHTER.
A game symbol that has continued on for over 20 years.
A badass that can both dish it out, and take it.

Thanks HotIce ! Thanks Kaona
and a little last minute selling:
Guy Cecil
A short video from the game where Guy's first introduced to a good portion of the characters, including Tear who gives him a fright (being a woman an all )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BE2vZFkc5Rc
the first 50 seconds or so aren't really important so feel free to skip
